Hey guys, I've worked on this app as my side project for over a year in my spare time over the evenings and weekends. Finally, it's presentable and I would love to hear your comments and thoughts. *** About app for astro guys ✨ *** 🔭 Point your iPhone or iPad to the Sky and get to know more about every object you can see. The application uses AR concepts to guide you to find any celestial object in the night sky. ⭐️ In the app can be found every star visible with the naked eye even from the darkest locations - there are almost 120 000 stars. 🛰 Positions of more than 1200 satellites are tracked in real-time including ISS and its crew. 🪐 On top of that app contains constellations, complete Messier and Caldwell catalogs of deep space objects, all planets, Moon, Sun including sunspots, and the most prominent meteor showers. 🌌 That's accompanied by over 100 stunning images and more than 1000 interesting facts about celestial bodies. *** How it's done for nerds 🖥 *** 📱 Application is developed for iOS14 only, but it still runs on 6 years old iPhones. UI was implemented via SwiftUI. 🖼 Every sky object coordinates are computed on GPU via Metal shaders. Voronoi diagram also computed on GPU is used to determine taps. 🛎 Opt-in for push notifications for rising ISS. 🚫 All celestial computations are performed offline. No need for the internet. 📄 I implemented few scholarly papers in the app. For example Realistic Sky Color, Planets Magnitudes Estimation, or Voronoi Diagram Computations on GPU. *** Where to find more *** Web: https://www.spaceera.app AppStore: https://apps.apple.com/us/app/sp... @pleshis Nice! Did you use native AR stack for this?
Jan Plešek
@eugenehp Hey Eugene, I did not. It's using gyroscope and accelerometer to know its position in space. There is still some room for improvement! :)

Wow! This is amazing! Very cool product!

Looks awesome Jan! Great job.
