Similar Songs Finder helps you find songs you'll love. If you want to create a playlis, all you have to do is enter the song and find hundreds more just like it. Its a great way to generate a playlist you'll love since you already enjoy the song you entered.

Hi all. I always wanted an easy way to make playlists based on music I listened to. So I made this to help myself and others find more music based on we already love to listen to. I hope you enjoy all of the new music you find. Let me know what you guys think and if there is anything else I should add. Enjoy!!

this works great! can you please explain how this works behind the curtains? do you aggregate/recommendations from other sources?

@zignis Thanks a lot. The way I do it is by first scraping songs from the Spotify api. Then I save off the lyrics and genre. Then I use open ai to make query’s to find songs similar to the entered one. I’m still working on improving it but this was the best way I found to find similar songs.

@archivebuttons thanks for explaining. you could use each songs's bpm for more accurate results but thats going to be very expensive computation wise (i believe spotify api does not provide bpm). anyways great product.

@archivebuttons another way would be to compute the Fourier Transform and compare those, I believe that’s how Shazam works as well. Just mentioning in case you’re interested.

Ha amazing! I always have this problem where I know there are similar songs I like, but don’t know their titles or artists and Spotify doesn’t bring them up. Let’s see if this helps 😄

@jopie Yea I also use Spotify a lot but they give me one playlist every week that I might like. Which is honestly not that great and not enough.

@archivebuttons yeah indeed, and if you listen to it, it just reinforces itself into the same direction, this is great for breaking out of that and exploring other things I imagine.
