Apple has been adding a lot of power to the Xcode simulator over the last few years, but they haven't been doing a great job making that power accessible. Sim Genie is what I wish the Xcode simulator did: focus that power on the workflows we run into every day and helping us speed them along. For example: getting screenshots and app preview videos ready for the App Store can be quite annoying today. Grab a device, plug it in and launch QuickTime, and start capturing. But Sim Genie now lets you do this all in the simulator (including modifying the status bar!), making it super easy to capture screenshots from different hardware types. With Sim Genie you can also easily test deep links and push notifications right in the simulator. And even better, with Sim Genie's quick repeat, you can use a keyboard command to repeat those commands. This really speeds up debugging / development workflows. Sim Genie also lets you dig into the simulator and your app's data. You can export a snapshot of your app's sandbox at any time, and use that in the future to restore. This is great if you want to keep some marketing-friendly demo data on hand, or if you want to snapshot old versions so you can test migrations in the future. Let me know what you'd like to see in future versions! I have a decent set of ideas for future updates, but I'd love to hear how you'd benefit from the simulator's power in your workflows.

@parrots that's fantastic, thanks Curtis. Exporting data is nice for testing or starter data prep.

Holy crap, instant buy, I didn't know half these features were possible, and the ones I did are so nice to have this easy to do. Woot!

Super helpful tool for discovering and using iPhone Simulator functionality that is otherwise hard to use.
