When we first launched the Shorty Awards in 2008, it was probably the first app to offer Twitter voting (http://bits.blogs.nytimes.com/20...) and was the top trending term on Twitter for most of the month. Today we launched a web app we rebuilt from the ground up to now elegantly accommodate celebrating the best creators on all forms of social media. We added categories for Periscope and YouNow. We're also showcasing the best work of all the nominees on our website.
