Whether you’re a manager or an IC - if you work from a computer, the RescueTime Assistant will give you a personalized Focus Work goal for the day, nudge you if you get off track, offer Focus Sessions to prevent distractions, show you how meetings are impacting your goals, and even help you remember to stop working for the day.
When we originally launched in 2007 we set out to answer the question, “Where does my time go?” I think we accomplished that goal but never really nailed the part where we help you actually rescue your time. So while the world was shifting more toward remote work, we made use of our 14 years of work habit data to rebuild the product to be more present and active and helpful. The new RescueTime is more like a personal wellness guide and less like google analytics.
We’re really excited to launch this new version and hope you’ll give it a try. Our fully-remote distributed team has even been using it internally to adjust to switching to a 4-day (32 hour) work week!

Based on the release notes (https://www.rescuetime.com/updat...), there hasn't been a new release of the Mac Client since the M1 Macbooks were released almost a year ago.
Subscription billing models are useful for funding ongoing development costs, but it's tough to justify subscribing to a product that doesn't seem to have been keeping up with updates on their end.
@ankushg great question, thanks! We've been releasing updates to our app and are working on an M1 native release, but we've been focused on adding features with this new version. The reason being is that there's essentially 0 noticeable performance differences between the builds.
