Hi all, I just discovered Readingstash this morning on Reddit.
@kohjingyu is the maker, this is a simple way to discover new books (business & fantasy) based on the cover, the Amazon rating and a short description.
📚More websites to discover your next books in this collection 👉"Find your next book"
@clemkn@kohjingyu How does this work under the hood? I am left with the impression that those are predefined collections of books that simply display one at a a time, in random fashion. Calling this "Tinder for Books" is a little misleading, as one expects a prediction algorithm, based on one's preferences. Anyway, a nice hunt, I found a couple of books in the "business" section that have been on my list for a while, but I'd forgotten about them till now ;)
@preslavrachev@clemkn Thanks for the feedback! Currently it's mostly random, but I'm hoping to change it so that recommendations are based on "like" history. Glad that it helped you out!
@kohjingyu Let me know, if you need an advice when you start building the recommender engine. I built the app recommender engine for http://discoverpinapp.com (sadly, in a semi-dead state ATM) a couple of years ago, and I've gathered some tips along the way.
