Everyone's trying to make email better. It seems to be one of the more populated and popular types of products we see on Product Hunt.
I like the simplicity of this, although I'm so invested in Gmail (contacts, tags, habits in how I process my email) that it's hard to switch to something new.
@rrhoover are you ok to share some of your habits? If they are general enough they could appear in the app!
I've actually played with google contacts integration but felt it is an unnecessary complication for the prototype.
I'm one for only needing simple actions in my email flow... I don't need all the bells and whistles. Of course there are great applications out there that have lots of fancy features which suit many ppl.
I love the simplicity of this.
@AndrejPancik tell us the story here :)
I've been overwhelmed by email recently and was working on my email workflow. I hated the addictive dopamine rushes when getting notifications, procrastination on important emails, and generally clutter in email clients. So I started Plain Email concept on a long transatlantic flight with a question: "What email client features can I remove to make email more usable?" It turns out that you can remove quite a lot!
Of course, what you can download now is just a prototype, many truly useful features (like search or conversation grouping) are missing, and that is not on purpose.
I will be happy with any feedback Product Hunt might have for me!
