First off, really excited to have @robjama hunt us, thanks so much! Hey Product Hunt! 👋 I'm Ali, the founder of OtO (pronounced “auto”). We're on a mission to unite technology with nature to design a more sustainable future for all. When I first started taking care of my new home’s lawn, I had no idea how time-consuming and challenging it would be to get it to just be green and soft enough for my young kids to play on. I’m an engineer so I started tinkering around in my garage trying to figure out how to automate the process – three years later we’re now launching OtO to the world on Product Hunt! Having gone through extensive user research and prototyping, we found that it wasn’t just me who had this problem – traditional lawn care is time-consuming, costly, and wasteful on the environment. Our product is a cloud-connected device that solves these issues by watering your lawn when and where you want, reducing your water consumption and saving you money on your water bill. It also applies soil-nourishing, natural lawn products like fertilizer and pest control – a cumbersome task that homeowners would normally need to do manually. A few product highlights: 👍 Easy & flexible installation. Mount in the ground or up high or against a structure, no digging invasive underground sprinkler systems needed. 🎯 Reduce Water usage: Use your smartphone to “draw” precise watering zones, skipping sidewalks, or increasing flow on areas with higher sun exposure. 🌱 Applies natural solutions for you: Environmentally friendly solutions are less convenient than their synthetic counterparts because they require smaller but more frequent applications. OtO takes the stress off the homeowner by applying it for them. 📏 Advanced long reach: Cover more of your yard with one spray head, at 50 PSI OtO can reach up to 30 feet, or bundle with multiple devices for even more coverage. Last year we tooled up our first units and sent them out to customers in select warm climate states. Since then, we've been constantly iterating with the hardware, sending frequent OTA updates, and trying different lawn care formulations. We're excited to be shipping mass production units this spring, and with many working from home therefore spending more time improving their indoor and outdoor spaces, believe this is the perfect time to launch. Spend $3,000 on an in-ground dumb sprinkler system, or this $300 smart sprinkler. It's a no brainer! As a hard core lawn nut, I've been using my OtO smart sprinkler to keep my lawn watered during the hot Texas summer. It has performed flawlessly. The connected app is amazing to help track and ensure that watering occurs on the best days and times (watering restrictions, when it's not windy, no rain in forecast, etc). I just purchased my second unit to cover both my front and back yards. 💥
