Hi PH community 👋 I’m Marin, the co-founder CEO of Omnisearch. Today, we’re super excited to share the new version of Omnisearch - a magical search tool that will make all of your content fully searchable and easily navigable! ***Problem*** The idea for Omnisearch came during my tenure at Amazon. As in any huge organization, we had hours of training videos that we needed to go through. Now, imagine trying to find moments in videos where “Paxos”, “erasure encoding” or “gradient boosting” are covered. You could search videos by title or description, but it was impossible to get directly to the exact moments where the information was covered. I brainstormed the idea with my co-founder Matej Ferencevic, a brilliant engineer with extensive startup experience, and we agreed to go all-in and attempt to fix this problem for good. ***Solution*** Omnisearch is a SaaS product that makes all your content searchable from a single page, using a Google-like interface. You can either use it through our dashboard, or use the API to integrate it into your own site or app. Our bread and butter has so far been searching spoken content in audio and video files, as well as text inside documents, images or presentations. But today’s release marks a massive step towards our goal of being the “search for everything”. 🔥 Today’s release includes our new visual search capabilities. To give you some examples, this means you can search for “banana”, “netflix”, “george costanza”, “suit” or similar textual queries, and find these objects, logos, or persons inside videos or images.
