Hey Product Hunt! OK Play, is an app built for families to create, bond, and grow together every day through play. For the last ten years we have built and grown entertainment, media, technology, and wellness companies. And over the last half decade most of us have aspired to build and grow our own children into kind, thoughtful, and expressive human beings. While the joy and pride we feel for our children is unmeasurable, the parenting journey is humbling and hard. (Especially right now.) We came together to create something that solves a real need in our own families: to create fun activities that encourage social and emotional growth in our children. And our goal now is to use our combined knowledge, experience, and research to positively impact the rhythm of families everywhere through play. If you decide to check us out, try us for free https://okplay.app/friends.

Most kid-focused apps are single player, designed to keep the child busy and away from the parents. Love how OK Play is focused on the multiplayer use case, using tech to bring families together. I'm curious, what's the biggest surprise/learning building OK Play so far, @chris_ovitz?

@rrhoover My co-founder @travis_chen probably has the best insight here. He looks at it through the lens of a play designer and was concerned that getting parents and children to play collaboratively would be a battle—where we are fighting against how they normally engage with devices and entertainment (separate and solo). But it’s something parents and kids seem to get naturally (and really enjoy). I think it’s an example of human nature (playing together) being a strong force, even stronger than modern habits (isolated device usage).
