There are many skills on Alexa making conversation between people and devices. They are kind of boring to me. Since Alexa has millions of users, why couldn’t make connections among them? There are social websites come to Alexa, like Twitter. Why Alexa can’t have its own way to social?
That’s how the idea of “Ocean Bottle” came out to me. In the skill, you can throw drift bottles with any messages to the ocean. Or pick up drift bottles from the ocean, and reply to the sender if you want. The person who picked up your bottle, or the sender who received your reply, can reply back. In this way, the conversations keep going.
There are many features to add in my plan for future. Meanwhile, any suggestion on improving the skill, or finding out the potential for social skills on Alexa, will be a huge help!
@anodigital Picking up bottle is random. There is chance that a user pick some one's bottle twice, but it's won't be the same bottle, and not selected by the user.
I've ran this and one thing I've noticed, probably inadvertantly, is that Alexa seems to be fairly bad at picking up the exact wording of anything I'm saying, even though in other apps/Alexa skills it doesn't seem to have any issues from understanding what I'm saying.
