Hello all, I’m thrilled to finally share our new platform NearbyWiki.org: an always-free tool to discover exciting places linked to Wikipedia articles near your location - in a fresh new way! THE PROBLEM There is no elegant solution to discovering unknown places around your location that involves Wikipedia articles. A tourist or a local who wants to learn more about their hometown has to switch between their Maps app and Wikipedia to read more about places around them. THE SOLUTION A mobile web app that combines a Map, Wikipedia and many nice features and information such as distance to location, experiences of other users and the possibility to bookmark favourite spots. The discovery mode gives the user the ability to swipe through random Wikipedia locations in their area easily. This way, he can discover unknown places in a very convenient way. The Wikipedia database enables an infinite and continuously updated information flow. THE FUTURE We’re just getting started!
