I've had this idea for many years. I think, while cool in their own way for sure, that there has to be better way to find locations nearby using location intelligence without needing a big clunky map that has way too much data for most users. I wanted to prove out the ability to find nearby points of interest in an easy-to-use efficient laser focused way for users. I think my first release does a good job of that. Another innovative and provisional patent pending approach I am using is in the way I'm integrating multiple sources of POI information using geospatial and category matching which was very complex. I use almost entirely open source development tools (react/python etc.) and data from Open Street Map and the Overture Maps Foundation. I could build this completely open source (so low to no cost to build and maintain) but I found it cool to leverage google places (no to low cost) for ratings/reviews/and phone numbers but I'm already working on creative solutions on getting that data in other ways. Another potentially patentable process is the way I'm scraping the business website for business images (to NOT rely on google apis!) and I'm working on ways of going into the business websites to get contact info and don't forget this is all happening on demand and in real time and performing well. This is a preview of my 'Nearby' suite I'm offering up for free use (webapp today optimized for mobile users) while I optimize the code for mobile. The suite will soon include a nearby solution for emergency services, recreational activities, leisure and more. The code base and logic are built and building these out is now efficient. I will also be using this exact technology to develop a 'Real Estate/Rental' nearby solution for open listings which will be a slick differentiator (or maybe even future add on ?) for sites like zillow, redfin etc. Who It’s For: - Everyday explorers: travelers, hikers, drivers, weekend wanderers - Professionals: delivery workers, real estate agents, field teams - Tourists & locals alike — people discovering now Traction & Proof Points: - PWAs live: chownearby.com placerby.com fixitnearby.com - Performance metrics: 709ms → 48ms with caching - Deduplication engine: prevents listing overload - Provisional patent-pending data integration engine using location intelligence - Voice-to-map flow tested across browsers - Add-to-home screen installs rising Market Opportunity: -$11B+ local search market (apps that drive offline decisions) - 100M+ daily “near me” voice queries - 60%+ of mobile search is location-related - Rising demand for context-aware discovery in EV, travel, and local commerce sectors Potential Revenue Strategy: - Freemium model w/ branded local listings (restaurants, repair shops, tourism) - White-label versions for DMOs, delivery services, utility/field ops - as capabilities grow plug into existing service dispatch or tourism platforms - Premium map insights (e.g., traffic, reliability scores, POI freshness) Future Enhancements: - expand on AI capabilities, currently verbal AI alerts can be enabled for POI proximity alerts - build algorithms to get poi data without any reliance on big data or big vendors (over 90% there already!) Thanks for your time!
