Hi folks, I just launched my first iOS app to the AppStore 🎉 The idea is quite simple: If you visualize your financial goals, it becomes much more tangible and you might even notice that it is not too far off. However, just setting a goal is not enough: You need to constantly remind yourself of that goal to make all your daily decision with that goal in mind. In comes MoneyVision: It allows you to add a widget to your home screen, displaying the progress and time it takes to achieve a financial goal - front and center. By adding the amount you need, monthly contributions and factors like annual return or inflation rates, it calculates the months/years it will take you. It will then estimate your balance each month. Seeing that number shrink each month keeps you motivated and on track. More features: • Customizable widgets for your financial goals - with more styles coming soon! • Track as many goals as you want • 100% private - all data stays on your device However, there is more planned for future versions: • More widget styles • Motivational notifications • Lock Screen widgets • Detailed statistics • And more... The free version allows you to set one goal with one widget style. An upgrade to Pro unlocks all widget styles, unlimited goals and future premium features. - Try one week for free. Would love to know your feedback! Let me know of any feature that you would like to see in the app. Cheers - Timo

Would love bank integration through Plaid - this has the potential to be better than Opprtun (previously called Digit). From what I can tell (I made it all the way to the paywall), I’ll have to manually update the data - if that’s the case - transparently even if the UI is beautiful (which it is in your app) - I’m going to forget to update the data manually. If you have direct bank integration already, then definitely advertise that before the paywall haha

@justin_rockmore Thanks for your feedback! Really appreciate it! The way it currently works is that the app estimates your future balance based on the given parameters. You only need to update the amount if you saved more or less than planned or when other parameters change. Also, the next update will add notifications that remind you to check if the estimations are still correct if you haven’t for a long time. However, it does not have a direct banking integration yet. But I’m already thinking about how to accomplish this! For this to be useful, people need to be able to connect all their banking/savings accounts as well as portfolios etc. This is a lot more complex to make reliably (but not impossible). So not something I can add in the next few weeks :) Btw there is a free plan you can try out (just skip the paywall) and you also have a 1 week free trial for the pro version :)

@timobechtel I think it’s an awesome product, only feedback would be to make it clearer during the onboarding that users don’t have to enter information manually, regularly. I’m going to keep poking around, but my immediate instinct as a new user was that if I was entering information manually, and also there was no obvious integration, that I would continue have to entering information manually. Maybe, right before the paywall, you can introduce some sort of animation - weight loss apps do this all the time - that shows copy like “ based on our automatic calculations, you should be able to save this money by x date” with a little confetti, animation, or a bar being filled up. Something to clearly tell the user that there is automated process working behind the scenes - because up until that point everything is me manually entering information

@justin_rockmore That's very valuable feedback, thank you! :) Will think about how to make this more clear. And also how to further reduce the need for manually updating information.
