Michał Jawiński
Hi, 👋 I'm Michal, maker of the Moko app. I am thrilled to present an experimental tool made for designers, motion designers, artists, and all sorts of creative teams who use visual assets in their daily job. 🎒Story behind Motion design and animation are significant parts of my professional career. I have always tried to add delighters and animated patterns to my web projects. When the pandemic hit, I decided to learn to code. I wanted to create something with a bigger purpose, so I started to think about current problems in the web animation area and wider industries that I could tackle. A "visual assets workflow" survey showed me that creatives reuse existing animations. Most of them have a dedicated place for storing these static assets that are quick and easy for them to access, so why not try store animations too. There aren't many motion designers within these companies, and making minor adjustments often takes motion designer's time because After Effects scares people with its super complex interface. I also observed that visual design assets are often reused and remixed in various ways within the same internal team or company, so organizing them and allowing users to make minor adjustments without the help of third parties will help popularize brand assets among the whole organization. In other words, uniformity and document control will be far easier to implement. I've designed and developed the app's front-end and then hired a back-end developer to help me finish the project. It's a fantastic ride as I am learning new things every day in the quest to make it easier to store and share digital assets. I've already received some feedback, and I am hungry for more! The app slowly became a great aid to me in my daily work, and now it is time to invite anyone interested in improving the collaboration between creatives 🤩 💡 How it works: Moko is a collaborative app that allows teams to store and share visual assets like illustrations, animations in "SVG" or "Lottie" format. It works as a visual asset database, easy to use for designers and also for those who are unfamiliar with design tools. Every element added to Moko is listed and has its tags, so it's easy to find the particular asset for a specific use case. The best part is that you can edit the colors and resolution of the uploaded Lottie animations (Editing colors of SVG's will be available soon) and export it to the MP4, GIF, and JSON under the static link. The links stay the same after every export. So, you can add a collection of visual assets, link them to your prototype or web project and quickly change its colors anytime you want, even after deploying a project. 📝 Features list: Storing assets in shared folders (Inviting team members) Uploading Lottie(JSON) and SVG files Editing colors and size of the Lottie/JSON assets (SVG editing is coming soon) Exporting to JSON, GIF, MP4 Tagging individual assets Quick search Dark mode If you think you and your team could benefit from that tool, give it a spin and let me know what you think, it's completely free. 🙂

@sklimczak Thank you! 🙂

@mjawinski I would suggest you rename your "Try it for free" button because it makes people think that it's a paid service that you can try for free. How about something like "Use for free"? I'm pretty certain that the word "try" will make you lose users.

That’s a valid point 🤔 Thanks for spotting this @franckinjapan
