Review MarketerHire?

MarketerHire receives mixed reviews. Many users praise its efficient matching process, high-quality talent pool, and supportive work culture. Freelancers appreciate the competitive pay and work-life balance. However, some users report poor customer service and issues with contract terms, suggesting a lack of communication and transparency. While some find the platform invaluable for sourcing expert marketers quickly, others advise caution due to negative experiences with hired talent and billing practices. Overall, MarketerHire is seen as a valuable resource for experienced marketers, but potential users should be aware of possible challenges.

Great experience! I'm a CMO and I've hired 3 marketers through MarketerHire: SEO, Content Marketer, and CRM/Email Marketer. They have been great! Strong executers and strategic enough to participate in our growth planning. You pay for the high levels of experience, but it's all freelance, so I don't need to pay benefits or have them sit in unnecessary meetings, pay for their vacations, etc.

Nice onboarding process. Our rep connected us with a knowledgeable expert. During the onboarding process it was made clear to us that their experts are vetted, that they use time tracking and that we can pay per hour. After we signed the contract, the story changed. Suddenly there was no time tracking. We couldn't get the expert on a call for more than 30 minutes per week and we had to pay for the full 10 hours per week (like a retainer instead of Time & Material). When we complained we were not getting value they refused to close the contract and continued to bill. Never received a refund. The expert was certainly knowledgeable. However, he was essentially running a scam. During onboarding he pretends to be available and ready to work. Then, after you sign the contract he disappears, he refuses to show time tracking and is unavailable for meetings/workshops. My advice: stay away from MarketerHire and use resources from Upwork. You'll get reasonable fees (MarketerHire charges 300% to 500% of the going rate), you'll be able to see reviews and you can put money in escrow to avoid paying when the expert provides no value.

Edit: Live now! https://youtu.be/NZArSueGttE (lol Youtube doesn't let you embed streams until you have 1,000 subscribers now ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ but click through! :) So excited for this launch. It solves a big problem I’ve seen in my own consulting, where people could benefit hugely from marketing experts, but can’t find them or can’t afford them full-time. MH tackles both in a really elegant way. To give everyone on PH a sneak peak of what it’s like to work with Marketer Hire, the team lined up amazing marketers from Invision, Bonobos, Intercom, and more, to answer our questions and they’re livestreaming the whole thing! Each guest is going to answer questions from their expertise in a different niche within marketing that's relevant to startups. If you have questions about marketing your product or startup, comment here to get them answered on-stream! @ChrisToy can you share each expert and when they’re going to be on-stream, so people can plan ahead a bit? And can you share MH’s origin story?

@staringispolite Thanks! In addition to answering the PH community’s marketing questions all day, if you sign up on MarketerHire.com today you’ll get $200 off your first project (details in the 3rd post image above) We saw the need for MarketerHire first-hand. We’re marketers who have worked at global brands, venture-backed startups and ad agencies (including starting our own). We know how hard it is for companies of all kinds to staff their marketing teams. Even defining roles like Growth Marketer or Content Marketer is difficult enough let alone trying to figure out what makes a great one. There’s just so much fluff and confusion out there. So we spent last year developing our recruitment and vetting methodology and couldn’t be happier with the results from our beta. Some clients are staffing entire multi-channel teams through us. As far as today’s festivities, here’s the rough schedule (will do our best to stay on-time): Hosts/Founders: Chris Toy (Rogue Advising), Raaja Nemani (BucketFeet), Stephanie Schultz (Kabam), Chad Keller (Growth Stackers) All times PST: 11am-1130am: Growth Marketing (Sophia Eng, Invision) 1130am-12pm: Growth Ops (Kyle Doherty, Intercom) 12-1pm: Facebook Marketing (Nick Shackleford, Diff Eyewear) 1pm-1:30pm Influencer Marketing (Sam Betesh, Airbnb) 1:30pm-2pm Email Marketing (Chase Dimond, The Discoverer) 2pm-2:30pm: Founder spotlight: Rei Kawano (Heed Foods) 2:30pm-3pm: SEO (Louis Perez, Capital One) 3pm-3:30pm Founder spotlight: Chelsie Lee (Shipsi) 3:30-4pm: Brand Marketing (David Fudge, Bonobos)

Great question from @fllorencekwok - How do I get my first 100 customers for a b2b marketplace?

@fllorencekwok @stephschultz B2B companies are having a ton of success with LinkedIn right now. Using their lead form ads really works well. They costs are higher than Facebook but the quality is 100X better. I would suggest have Facebook and Display retargeting traffic running as well though. Because through LinkedIn the traffic is going to be very quality as I said you want to make sure that you are nurturing it through other platforms.

@fllorencekwok @stephschultz We have a ton of success through an automated outreach ai bot that we created for LinkedIn as well. It does come off as spam at times but at the end of the day it converts.

@stephschultz @chad_keller1 Any recommendations on free GTM offline and online channels? LinkedIn ads are also the most expensive and conversion rates are hit or miss in my opinion.
