As amateur photographers who have taken many workshops both online and in-person, we realized that by leveraging RTC, we could create a platform that offered the convenience and scalability of asynchronous online video with the personalization and mentorship of an in-person workshop. Furthermore, using our screen sharing tech, this is the first workshop format where instructors and students can see through each other's lenses- this allows for real-time coaching/learning through the capture process from any location you want to photograph. Mobile has created a golden age in photography. The number of pictures taken worldwide increased from 660 billion in 2013 to 1.2 trillion in 2017 (90% of which are taken on smartphones or tablets). Meanwhile, digital camera unit sales have declined 20% year-over year since 2010. Consistent with this trend, many amazing professional photographers have moved their post processing stage to a tablet, and are shooting on mobile. Mobile allows a freedom that is unmatched by traditional cameras - you always have it on you and so you never miss the perfect moment. Despite the mobile revolution in photography, it still very much remains more of an art than science. Many of our early customers share the experience of comparing their blurry camera rolls to Apple's shot on iPhone billboards and are left wondering how someone captured such an amazing image from the same device we all use day to day - that is where learning from one of our Pros comes in!
