What do you think? …

Naveed Rehman
hi nice product. how is it better than using Google docs? congratulations on the launch 👍
Andreas Roman
@naveed_rehman Hey, thanks for reaching out :) Google Docs is great. If you like it or love it, keep using it :) we created Kludd because we felt that the tools out there for platform independent writing and collaborating, had so much going on that obstructed your writing flow and pipeline. Too many features getting in the way. When you’re in the zone, you want your tools to work _with_ you and follow _your_ pace. So we only brought in the stuff that you really need, to speed up your process, unblock your creativity and allow other to join when you’re on fire. But we’d love to hear your take on this, what unwinds your writing and really gets you going. It can be anything, doesn’t have to be a feature or tool. Just a thought, an idea, a consideration or whatnot, can be the next step towards our next update.

@naveed_rehman To add to @andreas_roman's answer, it also works completely offline, so you can keep on working in transit e.g. and be sure that any updates are synced with your collaborators at the smallest sliver of connection.

I like that approach. I use this simplistic writing app called Simpletext on Mac for the reason… sometimes I just want to write in a clean environment. No bells and whistles distracting me. They don’t offer collab and I wouldn’t want them too. Your product has a place on the shelf for sure.

@andreas_roman @erik_hallgren working offline is interesting. I just tried it, and I appreciate you have made a very clean-looking app. Just a feature suggestion, what if your app also provides writing prompts? And if they could be filtered by "age level", school teachers might become your power users as they will use it to help their students improve writing skills.

@wadesellers Thank you for saying. Yes, there are many great writing tools out there for distraction-free creativity, and they all fill a purpose. We always felt there was one missing for the part where your writing grows outside yourself - when you share it with an editor, co-writer, friend, publisher, showrunner, critique, fellow student, teacher, actor, designer or whoever. Most tools assume some kind of professional context at some point, and sharing your work and collaborating through commenting, feedback, rewrites, revisions and updates is part of it. But it should be as easy as slick and just the writing itself.

Hello writers 👋 And that’s literally all of you, actually. Because we all write. Tell stories. And share them. In mails, texts, presentations, articles, novels, screen plays, video game scripts and forum posts. And we do it together. Writers, editors, publishers, actors, producers, directors, colleagues, friends, readers, students, teachers. We at Future Memories (www.futurememories.se) have together with professionals in the field of writing and storytelling, created a product for all of you. Kludd is free from distractions and platform dependencies, but more importantly, it's made to collaborate. To grow and nurture your writing together. All those stories we just mentioned? All those people playing a part? Kludd is for all of you. And your friends. We who built this, are Viktor Hesselbom, Erik Hallgren, P-A Gustafson, Pontus Börjesson and Andreas Roman. This is just the first draft. We'd love your feedback, while we'll get cracking on the next update. But what we'd love even more, is if you start filling Kludd with your stories. That's why we built it, after all.

@pagustafsson It looks promising! Rn, it's throwing an error when I try to access: “Error - Request ID: 01GAKJ4AH52WDSRD6WP31K8H2E” Is Kludd overloaded?
Wade Sellers
This is neat! Curious… is there a limit to how many can collab on a doc at the same time?
Viktor Hesselbom
@wadesellers Thanks! Theoretically there's no limit but if too many people are connected at the same time it may cause some lag.
