What do you think? …

Rutik Wankhade
👋 Hey makers, I love building side projects. And every time I decided to build one, I didn't know how it will turn out in the end. But one thing is for sure, it all started with a half-baked idea. Well, what's a half-baked idea? my conversation with Joe might add some light to it. what if there was an Instagram-like app but with only workout posts? or a dating app based on your youtube watch history? It could be anything. That's why I built this project where we can crowdsource the internet's best half-baked ideas. There are two ways users can vote for their favorite ideas. 1. I would use it - saying I wish this product existed 2. Take my money - saying I am ready to pay if this product exists. This way we can get the best ideas validated. So go and share your half-baked ideas or vote for your favorite ones now.

@rutikwankhade okay, I love this metaphor! All I can think is "but lava cakes *are* half baked and they're still delicious." I think it further proves the point, though: raw, half baked, or even fully baked... it's always better than burnt! So let's get our ideas out of the collective thought oven and into the bellies of many. Okay I've clearly taken this metaphor too far...

Found this through your HN post. I hate having to signup before I can see what's going on. It would be nice if the landing page gave a blurb about how this all works, and then let me start seeing the half baked ideas others have posted so that I can see engagement. Edit: Also, the landing image at the top that's slanted and fuzzy is very difficult to look at.

@crobertsbmwI It was like that before. but after seeing analytics on site and how it performs I changed it. After 6-8 hours of the launch (on Reddit and Producthunt) and 1k+ page views, I realized only 1-2% of the visiting users were interacting(submitting/upvoting) with the app. And that was the problem. In the initial phase, the app needed ideas to be submitted or voted on. The main goal was to crowdsource ideas and not just the views. So I switched to this approach.

@crobertsbmwi Now that there are enough ideas to showcase. I changed it back so you can see all the post without signing up and requires signup only to post or vote

@rutikwankhade Loved the idea. With more users, this website would be a total blast. I get many creative ideas but I wasn't sure that this idea would be a fit for the market. Well, now I can check that here.
