Hey Product Hunt! 🎉 Last August we launched our MVP of Grapevine. We were super excited to win Product of the Week! Since then we’ve been busy putting our ideas and your feedback into the next version. Now we’re thrilled to announce the launch of Grapevine 2.0. Grapevine is an asynchronous (one-way) video update platform designed to keep teams collaborating without the need for time draining Zoom meetings. Think traditional standups, but in a video format that can be recorded and viewed at everyone’s convenience, without regard to location or time zone issues. What to look out for in Grapevine 2.0: - Completely overhauled interface - Support for recording & playback on iOS & Android - Screen Recording (yay) - Saved Library (great for saving videos on on-boarding, training, SOP’s, etc.) - Multiple Teams! We’ve launched a Starter & Growth plan, along with a 14-day free trial (no credit card needed) so you can check it out. All feedback & thoughts are welcome and appreciated! Here’s to a productive 2021, Brandyn

@brandynmorelli i was working in the remote team before. and i am big fan of asynchronous meetings. the thing is most people still thing in a old-school way > expecting to "hop on a call" or instant answers on communication platforms like slack. the challenge is educating the audience, how do you spread the message?

@brandynmorelli @vladojsem Hey Vladimir - Sorry for the delayed reply didn't see this. We believe by focusing on integrations with existing platforms, it will allow our reach to grow through existing productivity tools like Slack, Trello, Asana, Clickup, etc.

How does this stack up against the video platform Loom?

@jaketital Loom’s a great platform. I believe our differentiation is going to be focused around going deeper with features for different use cases. Right now we’re focusing on 3 main customer types: 1. Product Managers / Project Managers 2. Educators 3. Agency Owners We’re hosting different customer interviews and building out feature sets quickly based on requests. We’ve also seen interest in private fee based Grapevine teams for masterminds, group coaching, etc. Thanks again for your question! Brandyn

Great product, but this may get more troublesome if there are questions from the team (people have to go to and fro with commenting rather than just clearing it up directly in ftf morning standups. That being said, commenting may be more preferred for some people as they can articulate their responses better maybe? How would you assess this?

@daryllman Daryll - great question and I appreciate the comment. I don’t think any asynchronous platform is going to eliminate the need for all standups, especially for product focused teams. With that said, our goal is to reduce the # of overall meetings that we’re all apart of each week. I know for me personally it’s frustrating to be in a staff meeting of 8 people for 1-2 hours, when really you’re just there for your 5 minute update. Also in relation to product teams, we’ve found value with remote team members that we work with as freelancers/part-time, to receive daily updates through Grapevine vs relying on scheduling a daily meeting that doesn’t work well across time zones. I hope that was helpful! Brandyn

@brandyn_morelli Nicely summarised! Not sure if its good to have some kind of integrations within slack? I.e. When someone uploads a video update, the team will be notified. All the best!
