By using LoRa technology in combination with GPS, GoFindMe can work independently by creating a localized network between all users within range, without needing any cellular network or Wi-Fi. @kristofertm @gofindmegpstracker But what happens if you're outside of the 5 mile range? Isn't that _exactly_ when you need a location tracker, when you're lost?

@joshuapinter Hi Joshua, GoFindMe Lost Alarm function may help a bit in such circumstance: When one is out of the communication range, device status will be “offline”; if it’s been “offline” for 10 minutes, all other members will receive Lost Alarm on their cellphones, along with the lost member’s last location. Then others can try to find the lost one around the last location. GoFindMe is an off-grid tracking device that takes advantage of the LoRa (long-range radio) technology for data transmission, so it does have range limitation by nature (but honestly 5-miles range is excellent amount similar products). Generally, it is an outstanding tool for inter-group communication and location sharing. However, for anyone looking for a tracking device with global reach, satellite messengers (like Garmin) are the right choices. They have no range limitation, and can also work as a standalone unit (this will be really useful when someone is exploring outdoors alone), but just need high initial cost and subscription fees.
