Seems fun to use, one of the best things about the product is its hook. The surprise element every day. I am thinking about the business model and the moat though. Business Model - with enough users, you can advertise with brands. But it takes time, and the amount of money you might need to spend to keep the product running might be difficult to manage (just speculating). What will be your moat? If Instagram provides such a feature, how would you tackle such a scenario? PS: Congrats on the launch : )

@cosmos thank you for the thoughtful questions! In terms of business model and moat, unfortunately, I think most social media apps would get crushed by the incumbents taking their core ideas and adding them on as features. Building a new social app (especially one without promotion or influencer backing) is probably not a great business idea in general. Fake Social not having a native app also may limit it from having virality in the app stores and lack of access to users' contact lists. Even for Fake Social, this daily generated image + sharing with friends is the very first, basic feature (that can still be greatly improved itself). Going deeper with the "fake" idea leads to areas that larger apps would probably not want to touch (yet), around fully simulated environments/virtual worlds. For now, the app is so new I don't know where it will go or what ideas will come up. I just hope there is some connection between friends and fun images generated.
