Hey Awesome folks 👋 Richa here, Co-founder of Ethereum Push Notification Service 🔔 Ethereum Push Notification Service (EPNS) is a platform-agnostic decentralized notification protocol which allows Web3.0 services (dApps, smart contracts or even traditional ones) to send decentralized notifications to user wallet addresses. Not only that, it also enable passive earning for the user via our DeFi aspect of the protocol that ensures that the user gets a part of the interest generated via stake fees taken from the services. Why are notifications needed ? What’s the story? Blockchain still operates like the early era of the internet where you logged in to Gmail to check if a new email had come or went to Orkut to see what your friends wrote about you (yes, we are that old). But that is not the norm today, services don’t expect users to come to them, instead they notify the users e.g. credit card payments, loan due date, zoom call, are all notifications. That is the missing piece of the blockchain ecosystem which EPNS aims to provide. Below are few pain points that Web3.0 services currently have, and how the lack of a decentralized communication layer results in missing events, actions, and other important updates. * On AAVE, Compound, and other DeFi protocols, users don’t learn about their loan liquidations until they manually check, since there is no way for users to receive notifications. * Every time a trade order is placed on a DEX, the user is expected to manually check the service or their wallet address to see if the trade is completed or not. * ENS domain expiry has to be put on Twitter in the hopes that the grace domain user might read it. * Inform users whenever their governance tokens can be used on important proposals, as well as the status and time left for any active governance proposals. * Instead of waiting for a tweet, a PoolTogether lottery winner in the future can simply receive their winning lottery via a notification. * Availability of digital art on a decentralized marketplace or limited edition NFTs can be shared with users by simple notification.  We believe that Notifications are a basic necessity for any dApps / smart contracts / Web3.0 services that truly want to build a better web3 and for that to happen, a decentralized communication layer needs to be built... one that provides equal opportunities to all dApps to send notifications to their users, which follows Web3 ethos and is capable of carrying these notifications to any platform including crypto wallets, mobile apps or even web browsers.

We are #BUIDLing the world's first notification protocol that allows dApps and smart contracts to communicate to the users. As unexpected as it sounds, the Web3 doesn't have communication standard available in terms of notifications, something which the traditional web and all of us use everyday which is what EPNS is solving ❤️.

This is going to help notifying DeFi users on the gas price surge to make transaction at the right time and currently there no way for real time notification for gas price and I have installed and subscribed to ETHGas Channel already and its working well so far.
