๐Ÿ‘‹Hey hunters, I've been learning Spanish on Duolingo for a year and a half now and wanted to put that vocabulary into real-life use. Duolingo is great at offering dry repetitions. But the sentences can be nonsensical ("Three dogs cooked dinner."). Even the practical sentences carry little immediate application for me personally. So, this extension syncs vocabulary from Duolingo and translates part of the text on web pages based on that vocabulary. This way you learn the vocabulary you actually would use. In real-life content. You can choose between word and sentence translation. The latter only works if more than 50% of the words in a sentence are words that you've already learned with Duolingo. In addition, you can ignore domains (for example, related to work), skip translating links or easily turn the extension off. The free version has limits for the nr of words to be synced and characters to be translated (up to 20,000 in total). The paid version has no limit on the synced words and lets you translate up to 100,000 characters per month. I'm excited to hear your feedback and answer any questions you might have. ๐Ÿ˜

One of the best things I've started using recently. It's like spaced repetition, but embedded into stuff you actually want to read. Two thumbs up.

๐Ÿง Good find
This is a great idea! Unfortunately though I'm getting an error message trying to get it set up: Error getting Duolingo word translations: No JWT token and no Freemium UID. Forbidden access. Any ideas why?

@sanjaypoyzer Hey. Thank you for letting me know. I think I know why this might occur. It might take some times to get a bug fix up (as it goes through Google). In the meanwhile, I think it might work if you refresh the settings of the extension - either with the refresh button or just open and close. Sorry for that.

@sanjaypoyzer Uploaded a bug fix. Pending approval from the Chrome Web Store right now. But yeah, in the meanwhile, refreshing the options page should work.

@sanjaypoyzer The bug fix is now live. You can update the extension under the general extension settings ("Manage extension"). Or just restart Chrome and it updates automatically. Sorry again for the inconvenience.
