@alexjonsson Perhaps you could argue the same for the other apps that came before that one, where it took inspiration from. Dumb Phone was going to be another tab in focusedOS until it was too big to be self contained (since focusedOS is essentially DP minimalism for Mac), and I wouldn't be able to market it properly. It takes inspiration from the sleek + well designed Android app called Minimalist Phone. See the maker shoutouts above for more details about that app.

Congratulations on the fantastic launch of Dumb Phone, Michael! You mentioned that your screen time has significantly decreased since using Dumb Phone. How has the app quantitatively affected your daily screen time?

@jordan31 Thank you for the support Michael! 🙏 I think the biggest win out of simplifying my home screen is that when I pick up my phone to do something i'm no longer inclined to naturally tap an app icon that generally delivers a dopamine boost, instead of performing the task I wanted to do in the first place. It's a mental hack for me seeing "instagram" / "tiktok" in words, since my brain needs to first read the text i'm focusing on and decide whether to tap it. Thus, no longer spending tens of minutes in irrelevant apps each time which compounds across the day. Works a treat 😁
