Review Dispatch?

Dispatch has transformed Slack usage for many, making it more manageable and efficient. Users appreciate how it reduces the mental load of managing busy channels and ensures important messages aren't missed. It allows for prioritization, snoozing, and revisiting messages, akin to email triaging. Many users report increased productivity and enjoyment in using Slack, with some even comparing its impact to that of Superhuman on email. The tool has been praised for making Slack more organized and less overwhelming, with responsive support from the team.

Before Dispatch, I was way too comfortable with the "Mark Unread" option. Inefficiently reading, and re-reading the same message over and over until the time of taking action could align with when I viewed it. Why not just use Slack Reminders? Well, you my friend must not be an avid user of Slack because… Well, they suck. All-in-all my entire team (me included) was inundated with less important channel messages (if you also use Slack as your company's brain, you'll understand this), and the important/time-sensitive messages always fell by the wayside. Slack simply was not a joy to use, but rather a time-sink. After Dispatch, I actually… Enjoyed checking Slack. (yup 🤯). I'm able to treat Slack like email, triaging through messages (especially in the world with Slack Connect and countless external Slack channels, it's more email-like than ever)—simply put, Dispatch pulls Slack into the modern age of messaging. I can now actually prioritize channels and messages, while easily snoozing and revisiting messages at the critical time that I need to see them again. I actually feel like my team members see my messages on Slack now? It has encouraged my team to also use proper threading, so our Slack is more organized and cleaner than ever. Dispatch just does what Slack could never do, it has made the once overwhelming tool a joy to use. Genuinely dread the idea of not being able to use it again. You simply can't go back. Use it solo or with a team—it makes Slack 2–3x better.

Having Dispatch made slack usable again for me. It's removed all of the mental energy required to stay on top of busy channels, not miss urgent messages, and digest low-urgency channels.

This is awesome! I would love to have an assistant summarize all my unread Slack messages throughout the day, and surface important items I've missed. How can I train my AI assistant to know what is relevant to my work and interests?

Imagine if you had an executive assistant who was fielding all of the messages that you see in Slack. You'd want them to separate the important messages from the noise: • "Respond to this customer question" • "Review this memo" • "Sign off on this decision" You'd want them to draft responses for you as well, so that you can just approve the drafts and hit send. That's what we're launching today: an AI executive assistant that can take these parts of your workload off your shoulders completely. We've been experimenting with this internally and have been amazed by how AI accelerates our work in Slack. 📚 Summarize long conversations Your AI Assistant works alongside you in Slack summarizing messages & pulling out action items. ✍️ Draft replies Let the AI assistant take a first pass at replies for you. Or you can guide it with a prompt, and let it take care of the rest. 👀 Coming Soon This is only the beginning. We're excited to hear your feedback, to help build the AI Executive Assistant of the future. Here's what's on our roadmap. • Add custom system prompts to teach your AI assistant more about you • Teach the AI assistant to match your communication style • Add custom prompts by #channel • Extract next steps and to-dos from conversations • Identify the status of a conversation: open, in-progress, done, etc. • Tag conversations by type: discussion, question, announcement, bug report, etc. Q: What kinds of prompts would you want to give your AI Assistant? Let us know in the comments! 🧢 bonus swag! We've got limited edition hats that we're sending to the first 50 Product Hunters who sign up as Dispatch customers.

@suzanne_wang great question! For the draft replies, you can provide custom prompts via Slack's text input fields, like so https://share.cleanshot.com/LdK1... For summaries and action items, we'll soon allow users to specify custom prompts to train your AI assistant on what matters most to you.

Okay, so Dispatch alone has made us way more productive in Slack. Love that you're experimenting with AI to go even further into that. From drafting messages to summarizing channels, super super interesting! Excited to give it a spin 🙌
