I’m a solo Indie Dev and I'm super excited to introduce Dictation, an app that provides transcriptions for your voice recordings. The concept of the app was born from my outrage that the default Voice Memos app provided by apple didn’t have a transcription feature.
The app uses the latest AI transcription models to transcribe your audio recordings all on your device.

The biggest issue with voice notes vs. text communication is that it's often more of a ramble and less clear than written word. But it's also WAY faster than typing in most cases.
I want a Mac app that can transcribe + rewrite my verbal words into succinct text that I can paste into any text field (in an email, doc editor, etc.) with a click of a button.

I actually have a demo/mock mac app which does transcriptions and with the longer context of new LMs that should definitely be possible! I’ll go try that out! :D

Oh wow, super neat! Is this sort of like AudioPen or AudioNotes.ai ? Does it condense the notes after recording?

Currently the app just provides transcriptions, but I’m strongly considering implementing support for AI condensing/summarisation now. :)
