So excited to finally share this with the PH community!
Here's how Decode works -- you upload your long tax return, we'll use AI-assisted OCR to automatically scan all the important information -- we then present you a report that shows you how your taxes stack up along with suggestions to reduce your tax bill
We've been testing it with a few hundred returns over the last few weeks and finally have the tech good enough to roll out publicly
We wanted to release it before the October 15 deadline if anyone wants to double check their accountants work

P.S. Since this is obviously a ton of sensitive info, wanted to reiterate that we don't share this information with anyone, we don't store the full tax return anywhere and we allow people to delete all their information at any point
I love the idea of making tax returns smarter, easier, and more user-friendly. Asking respectfully, is this secure? I see that you have the data disclaimer front and center (and extra points for the silly blocks on your website that I sat here playing with 😆), but if a free product is letting me upload my most sensitive data, I'm a little wary of what the benefit is to the company receiving that info.
@heydanschenker dude, great question and honestly the most important question here! this is super privileged information and we don't take it lightly
our db is secured and only accessible internally -- we don't store any PII directly either. we don't store the complete tax return (it's deleted after we extract everything), and we will never, ever share any of the information extracted with a 3rd party
you can also delete your account / data at any point (and download the results as a pdf)
