We built cmdk with a vision to make navigating across the application to perform actions simpler and way faster than how we currently use all sorts of applications. As we build products to solve major use cases for our users, we lose focus on optimizing their experience to use the application better. We have been using shortcuts for a while to get many actions done without our knowledge which has become our go-to way of execution. Copy/pasting, spotlight search on Mac, moving across tabs, well you name it, and you have a shortcut. Why use cmdk instead of building it in-house? - You can save development cost and time of the resources deployed to build and maintenance becomes easier. - Implementation takes less than 90 minutes where as it'll take months if built in-house. - Constant R&D on improving the search. We are bootstrapped with a lean team size focusing on creating value with the product we are building. It is crucial for us to gain some valuable feedback from the community to build our product better.
