Hi everyone 👋 I'm Florian, founder of Chord Genius. On behalf of the team, we're delighted to finally launch Chord Genius! It's taken us literally years to sort out the licensing end, and it's really a dream come true to finally be able to bring Chord Genius to the market. Chord Genius helps Guitar players learn songs faster and more fun, by having chords and lyrics that move along as you play a song. In a nutshell, it's karaoke for guitar. Anyway, the idea to build Chord Genius started when I just started out learning to play the guitar. My progress was slow, and I wasn't really able to play any songs. To their credit, I discovered MusixMatch and wondered how cool it'd be if we had that for guitar. We built out the MVP and after speaking to friends and especially people from forums, I discovered that a lot of people had amazing experiences with the app. Without exaggerating, one told me that it was a winner, something he would gladly pay for. One said that he felt like it was made for him. Another one even said he became the life of the party when he jammed using the app in a party. We knew we had to make the app a reality, and after some (big and small) hurdles along the way, we are able to launch the app. Right now, we've acquired a license for songs from Warner Chappell Music, and the current catalog of songs isn't large, but it includes some of their popular songs (Green Day, Paramore, Twenty One Pilots, Simple Plan, Nickelback, etc). One thing to note though, the license doesn't cover the Europe territory, so we're unable to launch in that region for now. Chord Genius has a freemium business model - there's a free version, which requires you to watch an ad before playing a song, and there are 3 plans when you want to subscribe: monthly ($4.99/mo), 3 monthly, ($3.99/mo) and annual ($2.99/mo) payment. Last but not least, we'd like to say thanks to everyone who contributed and helped made this possible. Thank you to all the testers who have tested our beta over these years, and big thanks to @chrismessina for hunting another one of our products! If you want to see what it's all about, check out the product with the links above. Leave us some comment/feedback below 👇, or even better, on the app stores! Have a great day, everyone!
