Browserosaurus is an open-source (MIT license) browser prompter for macOS. It works by setting itself as the default browser; any clicked links in non-browser apps are now sent to Browserosaurus where it’ll present you with a menu of your installed browsers.

Browserosaurus

Maker
Hi. I'm the creator of Browserosaurus. I first released the app on 24 Jun 2017, and it has undergone quite a few changes and refactors since then. I created Browserosaurus because at work I do not really have a default browser; often opening links from email, Slack, Terminal etc. and then copying the link from the opened browser into the browser I intended. A nice side-effect of opening the picker window rather than directly into a browser, is that it allows me to back-out of opening a browser by simply hitting escape or clicking outside Browserosaurus’s picker window. When first looking for a solution, I found there were various apps in existence but none that quite offered the simplicity of what I wanted. Browserosaurus has by far been the most enjoyable project I have ever created and this comes from the fact that I use it every day. Being a fan of open source software, I thought I would share it with the world. If you love Browserosaurus as much as I do, please consider sponsoring its future maintenance. Thank you for using Browserosaurus.

@will_stone_ Cool interface, I like it, but what is the main difference between Browserosaurus and Safari?

@will_stone_ Thank you for creating such a great product! I am an heavy user of that on my MacOS. Before using it I've used MultiBrowser (also a great prodcut but discontinued)... the advantage of MultiBrowser that it can open browsers on a VM (Fusion) and I wonder if Browserosaurus can do the same? or in other words, can I manually add browsers to Browserosaurus

This is really, really useful. Personally I use a different browser for different tasks (one for work, reading, media etc) so to be able to chose where to open links from slack/email without having to copy & paste in different windows is super. Speeds up workflow, and declutters my working space from rogue read-later article tabs ✌️ Side note: Looks beaut!

Awesome app for those who have a browser zoo on their system. But even if you have one browser + Zoom + Figma + Slack apps — it will be helpful already

Awesome tool. It's just such a shame that it always crashes if you're using multiple full screen spaces.
