For the past decade, my co-founder Matt and I have been working in tech, watching (and helping) the industry grow at its insane pace. At the same time, we’ve kept our eyes on what the automakers have been up to. We've watched them spin their tires at the starting line as their Silicon Valley contemporaries ran laps around them. Well, I think they're starting to gain traction and begin the race. Out there, we see the automakers making strides in the dashboards of countless Ubers, friends and family vehicles, our own cars, and my (admitted) obsession with Doug DeMuro’s reviews. However, much improvement is needed, even in the high-end luxury segment. No shade — we have massive respect for the industry, which stems from a passion for car design, performance, and automotive tech. We thought, why not collect them all to get a sense of what’s going on out there? We built Auto Interfaces with the goal to be the best collection of automotive interfaces on the internet. This is a tool for designers, engineers, product managers, auto execs and enthusiasts to explore and compare the latest infotainment, gauge cluster, and passenger screens and interactions. We’re just starting out. Our collection so far demonstrates some of the drawbacks of closed infotainment systems — namely, it’s impossible to take a screenshot. This won’t stop us, we’ll be adding new interfaces every week. With time, we hope to make Auto Interfaces the best companion to makers of amazing and immersive digital experiences that are sure to come out of this great automotive transition.
