AirPods mic sounds like crap in calls, hear for yourself

We built "AirPods.WTF" so people realize they sound terrible in meetings just because of using AirPods as both their input and output device in calls. Best practice is to use your MacBook's built-in mic and then use AirPods as just your output device.

Hey! I'm Mo, cofounder of a voice chat app called Noor. During onboarding voice calls, #1 tip I told 4 users in a single week was to change their microphone from AirPods to their Built-In microphone, and they had no idea how better they'd sound. They all were amazed. [1] ---- What are the issues with AirPods? (or any other bluetooth headset) 1. Added latency to your voice (~100-220ms) 2. Output quality drops significantly (what you hear) due to Bluetooth limitation when AirPods mic is in use 3. Microphones sound muffled and low quality compared to wired earbuds, MacBook's built-in mic, or >$100 USB microphones. The only time you should use their microphones is in noisy environments or when you're moving around. --- We made this website because SO MANY people aren't aware of this. One friend thought their pair was broken [1]. Another friend did not believe me and we literally went to Zoom, did a test recording, and he was like "wow!". Another tech-savvy Twitter friend with 27k followers literally believed AirPods sound better than their MacBook microphone until he found out recently— which I'm not going to name who (their username starts with "Kit" and ends in "ze") [2] [1] Fun fact: Since then, we made it a modal in our app when you have AirPods [2] https://twitter.com/mathdroid/st...)
