Waydev is a software engineering intelligence platform created for engineering leaders that leverages insights from the engineering stack to improve health, accelerate delivery, and enhance planning!
This sounds intriguing, @alex_circei! Pull requests can be such a pain to analyze effectively. Iβm curious about how your tool specifically identifies risky PRs and bottlenecks. Also, any plans for integrations with popular CI/CD tools? Would love to learn more about your approach!
Hi @michaelgreen ,
Thank you for your question! We often receive questions about insights into CI/CD tools, which are indeed a crucial part of the development process. Our team has extensive experience in this area, providing valuable insights through established standards like the DORA metrics.
We understand that each company has its unique way of setting up integrations. To accommodate this, we offer a highly flexible solution that allows us to ingest data directly from your CI/CD tools via our API. This capability not only enables us to support any type of CI/CD integration, but it also allows us to go beyond standard metrics. By combining the data you provide in innovative ways, we can create custom metrics tailored to your specific needs. This approach delivers deeper insights into how your tools and processes are performing, highlighting both strengths and areas for improvement.
Regarding how we identify risky pull requests (PRs) and bottlenecks, we use a set of key indicators that help us pinpoint potential issues before they escalate. These indicators include, but are not limited to, the following: PRs containing risky commits, having an excessive number of changed files, being merged without proper review, remaining open longer than expected, containing numerous follow-on commits (those made in response to reviewer comments), and involving a large volume of code changes, among others. By monitoring these indicators, we can proactively identify areas of concern and address them before they become significant problems.
If you have any further questions or would like to discuss this in more detail, feel free to reach out.
Congrats for the launch @alex_circei@alexander_nitu@buzea_valentin@delia_adok This is a great addition to your core product. We have over 700 repositories on Creative Tim, and of course a lot of PRs. Can't wait to see how this will help our team. ππ½π
So excited to see Waydev Pull Request Insights launched! π Itβs crucial for engineering leaders to have a clear view of PRs to drive better outcomes. Great job @alex_circei and team on addressing this challenge! Looking forward to trying out the 30-day free trial! Upvoted!
Congrats on the launch of Waydev! It's exciting to see a platform that focuses on providing insights for engineering leaders. The emphasis on improving health and accelerating delivery is crucial in today's fast-paced environment. Looking forward to seeing how it enhances planning and drives better decision-making for teams. Wishing you great traction and positive feedback from the community! Keep up the amazing work!
As a coder, I was always skeptical of code analysis as a metric for technical performance. Counting lines of code is not performance. Waydev was a game-changer!
Weekly reviews always include DORA metrics
Congrats!
Onward and upward!
Hey Alex,
I'm wondering how this compares to native GitHub/GitLab PR analytics?
For larger teams, how customizable are the metrics and dashboards?
Congrats on the launch!
This tool offers detailed analytics on pull requests to help streamline code review processes. Does it support integration with all major version control systems?
It would be great if we could connect with other project management tools. This would make our workflow smoother by combining insights with task management.
