Joining a new company is stressful. Typelane makes it easy to give new hires the best possible start โ regardless if they work remotely or in the office.
Hey Product Hunt! And a big thanks to @kevin for hunting us! ๐
We built Typelane to make it easier to welcome new employees regardless if they are joining you in the office or working remotely. Onboarding new talent is something most companies struggle with. Itโs manual, time-consuming and complex. We want to make it easier for everyone.
With Typelane you can set up the ideal onboarding for your team, company or role. Add anything from videos, gifs to important to-doโs and questions you need input on. Press send and let Typelane do the rest. Everything will even be branded after your company's identity!
Changing jobs is difficult and onboarding has a big impact on how long team members stay and how they feel about their new job. So letโs make sure to give everyone the best onboarding possible!
We canโt wait to hear what you guys think about Typelane and how we can improve it!
This reminds me of the book "Work rules" where Laszlo Bock describes how they onboard new employees at Google after a lot of tests. Great job ?makers !
๐ @jaakko_timonen1 great question! Prior to Typelane, I have been at several fast growing companies and experienced how hard it is to give new hires a smooth onboarding experience. Things easily are forgotten and we felt that there must be a better way which sparked the idea for Typelane.
Effective tool for the person responsible of onboarding new employees. Even more so now when new hires start working remotely. Well done and thank you for this product!
Amazing! I remember putting together an 8 page on-boarding document for my new hirers and checking in with them weekly on their progress. It was time consuming for me, and probably not the best experience for them, but at the time it was the only thing I could think of. And my company didn't have a true onboarding experience for when they actually joined the team (after orientation). This is awesome - best of of luck to you guys!
Hi @desi_saran! Great question! So we charge per person that is onborded to your team or company. So if you don't onboard anyone for a month, you won't be charged!
With onboarding new employees the problem was always with the changes in the content that no one updated. Say I'm onboarding a developer to the team: something as broad as the feature set of the product and something as specific as the ci/cd architecture that were on the onboarding docs were out of date many times. IMO having good onboarding requires you maintaining good docs across functions across the org and it also requires them to come update it everytime on these onboarding docs vs just their own teams docs. Solving the first problem requires much more than software IMO however the second one is much more easier to solve. IMO Something that takes these docs for each team(weekly reports, readme from the repo, jira tickets etc) and showcases a summary of their current objectives and work will be super helpful for onboarding.
