trace is a digital space to write freely and reflect deeply. whether it’s for daily logs, emotional check-ins, or long-form thought dumps, it helps you observe your patterns and grow with clarity, without clutter or noise.
hey guys! this is an app that i built for myself, to help me get into the habit of writing/journaling more. i've always been inconsistent with writing, so i made this app to combat that problem. it has helped me in more ways than i can explain, and i hope it will do the same for you!
all proceeds (if any) will be donated to charity
I absolutely adore the minimalist vibe here! It’s like a serene little nook on the internet where my mind can finally take a breather. 🙌 Plus, the charity aspect is such a lovely touch.
@iam_ursus_viola900 Thank you so much for the kind words! I honestly forgot to check back on product hunt, so seeing all this feedback now is such a (pleasantly) pragmatic surprise. Really appreciate you taking the time to share that!
This feels like a comforting haven for my thoughts. I’ve tried too many flashy apps that just end up distracting me — trace seems to be the perfect antidote (in the best way possible)

At last, a journaling app that doesn’t try to turn my emotions into a game. Just a straightforward, honest space for writing. I’m already a huge fan!
@rene_tyson7001 Thank you so much! I should have a working prototype out soon!

@connor_tesco2445 This means the world to me! Thank you so much, Connor!
Kudos for creating something you genuinely needed. That usually means the product comes from a real place — and it really shows.
@taylor_kobson2203 Thank you so much for the kind words, Taylor!
The charity contributions really make it special. It’s not just tech; it’s tech with a heart. ❤️
I appreciate how it’s all about writing and nothing else. No gimmicks, no endless buttons. Just me and my thoughts.
@yuria_fazal I appreciate you so much!
With its clean design, great mission, and easy onboarding, it already feels like the kind of app I’d keep open in a browser tab all day long.
@kashim_hocane This makes me so happy to hear! An early version will be out very soon!
The name ‘trace’ is spot on. It feels like leaving gentle impressions of your thoughts over time.
@farah_azlam I am very surprised with the amount of great feedback this has gotten, thank you!
I love that it’s not just a ‘to-do list in disguise’. It’s truly a space to process life, not just keep track of tasks.
@ryan_avary This was a key detail that I had in mind when building it!
This reminds me of the good old days of blogging — but in a private, safe way. Just you and your own headspace.
@rabin_quest Nailed it!
