StoryChief.io is an Editorial Software for B2B Content Marketing and Editorial teams who want to collaborate better on rich articles and want to seed multi-channel in seconds.
Hello Product Hunt community, finally we are here!
My name is Valeri - a graphic designer from Ghent, Belgium.
After running a successful branding agency with my co-founder (engineer) Gregory, a third co-founder (developer) Brik joined our team. We three—the Hustler, the Hacker, and the Hipster—started building our own Content Marketing SaaS. Our team has grown a bit along the way and it’s taken two years of hard work to be with our product where it is now.
Our product, www.StoryChief.io, is an Editorial Software for B2B Content Marketing and Editorial teams who want to:
🤝 collaborate better on rich articles
🌱 seed them multichannel in seconds
🔥 measure their impact
Our software is a direct result of us talking to more than 1500 local leads and customers—mainly in Belgium and the Netherlands. These conversations drove us to experiment and continuously improve our software, starting from scratch on some parts, and redefining our pricing model about 10 times.
And we’re psyched to share our story here and become an active part of the Product Hunt community!
WE WOULD LOVE YOUR FEEDBACK!
Some of our cooler features (because we personally love them all) allows you to:
💪 Optimize copy for SEO
👥 Trigger Ambassadors to re-share content
👩💻 Send out press releases to your journalist friends
🚀 Plan content in the Content Calendar
Please sign up for a free account and start throwing your thoughts right at us, both good and bad. We are here to answer your questions all day long.
💥 There’s also a special offer inside the app. And finally, to thank you all, we’ve created a https://contentwritingchecklist.com to get you started with your content marketing! 💥
Cheers
Valeri
@valeripotchekailov Looks great Valeri. Few thoughts if you plan to scale outbound sales :
a) Reach out to SaaS companies who have recently raised funding. These companies will do lot of content marketing and reaching out to them as soon as they have raised funds will give you first movers advantage.
b) Reach out to companies who are hiring for content writer. If a company is hiring for content writer, it means it has money and is willing to spend money on content writing. Hence, it makes sense to reach out to companies.
Looks like a terrific platform - I've just registered to check it out as a potential solution for my clients and delegates on my workshops.
I am afraid I have to ask - what about GDPR compliance if your platform also connects to ambassadors and the press?
@krishnade Thank you! Really appreciate your feedback. About GDPR, we have a double opt-in and an opt-out mechanism in place, and the lists of ambassadors and press are actually managed by you (the user). There is also data-regression in place that anonymizes and deletes personal data after 3 months of inactivity. There will be a full GDPR checklist in place inside our app very soon.
I've tried Storychief a couple of times, and I constantly see the product evolving. The team is doing a great job, solving some real pains for anyone in content marketing or editorial teams.
Pros:
Great team, solves real pain for content marketeers, amazing UI, free pricing tier, ambassadors feature, freelancer matchmaking
Cons:
Could use some more integrations with CMS platforms
Hi Kasper, thanks for your feedback! Really appreciate it. Indeed we are constantly evolving, in fact, last week we've launched the new version of our channels list, where we've added way more integrations with cms systems like Sitecore, Episerver, etc... If you have a custom CMS, we have an open API which is accessible in the freemium account, you can link any CMS with that. Cheers
Content is king, but distribution is queen and she wears the pants. And I’m speaking from experience, because content writing and distribution is our daily core business. Being an all-in publishing tool, the most valuable asset of Storychief is its usability and the fact that the developers use design thinking as their problem solving approach, really focussing on the users' needs and wishes.

This looks great! We're a small team publishing straight to various channels, interested to give this a try and see how it might help us. Do you see a lot of customers using the hosted blog feature, or using it more for collaboration and syndication?
@conarro Hi there Kyle, great give it a try! If you don't want to spend time on setting up WordPress or other platforms the hosted blog feature is for you, no installation required and is mobile friendly.
Startups are mostly using the hosted blog feature because they don't have time to set up their own blog (too busy building their apps) and because they also want to publish to multiple Medium.com publications and social media without having to copy paste everything.
Established companies and teams like our tool mostly because of the collab features.
We have been using StoryChief as a paying user for over 8 months now mainly for our blog (blog.peepl.io) and really enjoy using their platform. We love that we can just focus on our blog posts and let StoryChief publish them to all of our Social Media channels in one click. They actively listen to feedback.
You should definitely give them a try!
Pros:
Multi-language blog, easy to manage by non-tech team members. Cross-channel publishing is a time saver. Awesome UI / UX. Great support.
Hi guys,
We received a great question a couple of hours ago (via chat) I thought I would share here. It might be relevant to some of you.
The question came from Technical SEO expert: “When I connect both WordPress and Medium, will the post on Medium be automatically ‘canonical’ to the Wordpress url?”
Great question. Duplicate content and ranking on search engines is a concern for everyone. We’ve actually addressed this in an article, which I’ll link here: https://blog.storychief.io/avoid...
TLDR: If you publish your article to multiple CMS systems, then all you have to choose your ‘primary channel.’ Story Chief will take care of the canonical url for you automatically. All your social links and email previews will also lead to that primary channel.
If anyone has additional questions then please ask away!
At BESIX, we switch from Prezly to Storychief because it improves our content publishing flow! From 3 hours to less than 5 minutes to publish on (almost) all our media. I didn't take yet into account the time we will gain with the copywriting flow.
Pros:
Efficient support, Time saver, one tool to manager the whole content publishing flow
We started with the free version and upgraded to the paid version because we can use the blog linked to our website and have more stories to sent each month. In the beginning i had some problems but always very quickly supported by the helpdesk. Once you use this and see how many time you can save, the SEO help you get, you will be sold.
Keep up the good work!
Pros:
Very easy to use, quick answers from support, auto saving so nothing get lost
@paulmckeever Thanks Paul! Great to hear that! Story Chief is all about making sure your articles are read more! We just want the creatives to focus on the quality of their content instead of thinking about tech stuff.
When you've finished with your draft and got your article approved by your team members you can put it on multiple platforms without any copy-pasting or coding and with one click: To your website, Medium.com, Facebook, Twitter, LN, Facebook Instant Articles, Google AMP articles, Send it to your press contacts (with offline assets), Ask ambassadors to reshare it in their own social media networks, let it be included in your Email digests, and all these without thinking of technical setup (layout is defined by your output channel, canonicals urls are setup, utm tags are in there, etc..)
Hope this answers your questions, we are here to answer any further questions!
Signed up excitedly to find the free version is limited in more ways than just story frequency. Maybe be upfront about this on the pricing page? "For users who publish up to 5 stories a month" makes it sound like that the only limitation on the free tier. Pro is "for teams who want to use our premium features". Yet, the pricing page doesn't explain what those premium features are. You only find out what is excluded from the free tier after you've signed up and navigated to the upgrade page in the account.
@keirwilliams Hi Keir, thanks for your feedback. Sorry you couldn't find the pricing page, must be more prominent indeed, if you click on PRO features, then you see the list here: https://storychief.io/pricing/pro
Have been using Story Chief since the very start, and boy, has this tool changed a lot! One of the strengths of this tool is that the developers constantly add new upgrades/improvements. Because of that, I've encountered a few bugs while using the tool, but the team is always very quick to fix those. Solving those bugs never takes more than a day, most of the time they fix it in an hour or less. Another advantage of using Story Chief is that you don't need to have technical know-how or need to figure how to publish on channels such as Google AMP, since they fix the set-up for you. Overall, I'd recommend this tool to any content marketeer looking for a quick and easy way to reach their target audience using multiple channels whilst only have to write and publish once.
Pros:
Clean and easy-to-use interface, quick and responsive help desk, great content add-ons (eg SEO check), real time-saver for any content mrktr
Cons:
No offline mode, sometimes site gets slow, have encountered couple of bugs
I signed up and got into writing my first story less than 5 minutes. APIs function well, limited number of stories I didn't see any flaws, i just have to wait for the SEO report to see if it made any difference :)
I've been using this product with our team for over a month we've put it through its paces and published 40+ articles in the month and talked with the support team about feature requests, small bugs and had everything resolved in moments not hours or days with other products.
Can't speak more highly of the team and i'm excited to see what is next for Storychief and the Sloth

Initially I thought about StoryChief as an automation tool; it's like Buffer, but for articles.
After used it for a while (since May), I figured out it's also great as
1) a planning tool
2) a way to deal less with the WordPress. Somehow I like WordPress, but hate their admin area.
Pros:Idea; editor is far superior to the WordPress one
Cons:I've submitted couple bugs, but they fixed them
