We acquired a new domain for Statuz

Seven months ago, when I was looking for a domain for Statuz, I found out the .com was already taken (obviously), also the .app one - but here I saw an opportunity, the previous owner tried to launch a SaaS and left a contact form on their landing page.

Then I thought: I’m launching this app anyway with a .gg or whatever, so I’ll send a message through this contact form. What could go wrong? so I did.

Fast-forward 7 months, and I receive an unexpected reply in my inbox. That was @ajai_jayakumar. He apologized for the delay and said he was willing to sell the domain.

I was surprised, although hopeful back in the day, after a few months, I had totally forgotten about it. The landing page was about a nice product that I thought was doing just well, with some ads and maybe generating inbound leads.

One week later, the rest was… a kind negotiation, a fair price, a clear communication, and a successful deal.

We're thrilled to finally have the statuz.app domain. For now, just redirecting, but I have some good plans 🫡
