LocalStory: Finding hidden local travel spots - Hi, I'm Hyobum, founder of LocalStory!

I'm Hyobum, and I've been building LocalStory for the past 6 months while teaching myself to code. (AI helped a bit too, haha)

It all started during my Southeast Asia trip last year. I was doing the usual tourist spots when a local friend I randomly met recommended this tiny café in an alley. The coffee there was absolutely amazing. That's when it hit me - this is where the real joy of travel lies.

But usually, these experiences are hard to come by. Language barriers, not knowing where locals actually go... we all end up visiting the same tourist traps.

So I thought: what if there was a platform where you could easily discover genuine local recommendations?

At first, I considered outsourcing it, but I decided to try building it myself. Complete beginner, but learned step by step, and after 6 months, LocalStory was born.

LocalStory is a travel platform featuring places and stories directly recommended by locals. It's now available on iOS.

Honestly, I'm not writing this just for promotion. I hope LocalStory becomes a space where we can share those "too good to keep to myself" places.

Right now, we're starting with local spots in Korea, but I plan to gradually expand across Asia. And I want to create more than just information sharing - real local experiences and genuine connections.

This is my first project after 6 months of learning, so I'm both nervous and excited. Would love to hear your feedback and thoughts anytime! 🙌
