I built a simple app to help people share how they’re feeling. I would love your feedback
Hey everyone! I’ve been working on a little side project inspired by something I’ve seen (and lived) in a lot of relationships i.e., the struggle to say how you’re really feeling without it turning into a big conversation or conflict.
So I built Relate: https://relate-the-app.vercel.app/ 💡
It’s a super simple, free app that lets people check in using a traffic light system:
🟢 Green - I’m feeling good
🟡 Yellow - I’m struggling a bit
🔴 Red - I need support or space
No logins, no chat history, no pressure. Just a quiet way to say “this is where I’m at today.”
It started as a tool for couples but as I’ve tested it with others, I’ve realised it can support all kinds of situations:
💬 Children communicating with parents during trauma or shutdowns
🧠 Neurodivergent people signalling sensory overload or emotional overwhelm
🧒 Teenagers who find it hard to open up but still want to be seen
🤝 Co-parents or long-distance families staying connected with low friction
🧑🦽 Carers supporting disabled or vulnerable adults
🏡 Housemates managing stress in shared living
💼 Small teams doing quiet wellbeing check-ins at work
❤️ Couples navigating burnout, parenting, or mental health challenges
It’s still in very early beta so I’d really appreciate:
💬 Your honest feedback. So what works? what’s missing?
🧠 Ideas for how it could be more inclusive or practical
🔧 Reports of anything buggy, confusing, or clunky
The goal is to build something simple, safe, and actually useful for anyone who finds communication hard sometimes.
Thanks so much for reading

Looks interesting. Is there a Web app version?
