We built Recento to solve a simple but frustrating problem: you just downloaded a file or took a screenshot, but now you’re wasting time trying to find it again. Recento solves this by giving you one shortcut to view all your recent files, beautifully organized in a lightweight overlay.

This looks like it will help a lot with accessing recent files. I am always forgetting where I saved files, so hopefully that won’t matter any longer 😄

Developer here—just wanted to say, Recento already feels like a missing puzzle piece for my daily Mac workflow! I’m always bouncing between dozens of projects, terminals, docs, and random files. Hitting a hotkey and having everything I touched recently just pop up… honestly, that’s the dream. 😅

The filters are genuinely useful (love being able to focus on just my code or design files), and the clipboard history is such a small but life-saving detail—can’t count how often I lose track of what I copied! UI is light, snappy, and plays great with Dark Mode, which is all I ever use.

Using this app reminded me of Trickster, an old favorite app I used back in 2011. Oh, the nostalgia!

No way—instant access to recent stuff across files, folders, AND clipboard? I lose track of what I was working on all the time. This could seriously save my sanity!
