We built Re:Connect because we believe communication is a basic human right. Too many people with limited mobility or speech impairments struggle to express themselves, and existing solutions are often slow, expensive, or inaccessible.
We built Re:Connect to help people with limited mobility communicate using only a webcam and their eyes. No special hardware required — just look, type, and express yourself independently.
As an additional feature, Re:Connect can also clone a user’s voice from a short recording, so messages are spoken in their own voice — but that’s completely optional.
We’ve worked hard to make it fast, accurate, and reliable, but this is just the beginning.
🙏 I’d love your feedback: • What do you think about the use cases? • Do you know someone (or an organization) we should talk to who could benefit from this? • Any ideas for features that would make Re:Connect even more impactful?
Thank you for checking us out, it really means a lot!
@shawn_park_f12 Thank you so much 🙏 Yes! Re:Connect is already available in 4 interface languages, and the speech feature works in ~10 languages. TBH, adding new speaking languages is relatively easy as it's using the Web Speech API in basic mode. When connected to AI voices, the only limits are the AI engines, which already support a wide range of languages. So we're on the right track here :) The bigger challenge will be adding other keyboards than US, this will be interesting :) Any ideas on that, where to start? :>
@adam_cellary This is great. I'm with a team in Korea, and I'm starting to feel that it would be wonderful to introduce your product here.
That's why I asked about adding other keyboards. For Korean, it would be much more effective to change the keyboard method slightly. With 24 basic consonants and vowels, I think a few modifications could make it very powerful.
Also, collaborating with a Korean partner looks like a very promising B2G business opportunity.
@shawn_park_f12, that sounds great, let's connect via email (adam(#)releye.io). We're not there yet to change the keyboards (we're currently building a roadmap with early users), but we're moving fast. Once we're there, I'd definitely like to reconnect to explore potential collaboration opportunities. Thanks!
@adam_cellary The mission behind Re:Connect is incredibly powerful - turning "communication as a basic human right" from a belief into actual working technology that someone can use with just their webcam is genuinely inspiring. Amazing work! 👏
Using just a webcam and your eyes to chat is realy next-level accessibility—no fancy gear needed, which is huge for so many ppl. Big respect to the team for this!
From the perspective of a marketer, it would be pretty cool to use this for graphic drafts or videos to see how potential users (target audience) react to our ads. Any plans to customise it that way?
@busmark_w_nika Great point 🙌 For exactly that kind of use case we actually built RealEye (https://www.realeye.io) — our eye-tracking platform for testing ads, videos and designs with real users. Re:Connect is more about accessibility, but if you’d like to explore marketing applications, definitely check out RealEye!
Just tried the demo—eye-tracking with only a webcam is wild. I’m curious, how accurate is it for longer typing sessions? Huge respect to Adam & Damian for pushing accessibility forward.
@cyrusandrew Really appreciate you giving it a try 🙌 For longer sessions, it stays surprisingly stable - we’ve put a lot into keeping calibration light but reliable. It's still early days, and in case the calibration quality deteriorates over time, we're planning an option to re-calibrate (even when low calibration is automatically detected).
I gave this a try and I’m honestly impressed - setup was super quick and using it is very simple, so huge kudos @adam_cellary, @damiansmk!!! This feels like a real game-changer for accessibility and everyday use, especially since it’s FREE. Fingers crossed 🤞
@damiansmk@marthynator I’m really keeping my fingers crossed that we’ll manage to reach everyone in need and place this product (still just an MVP, let’s face it) in the right spot on the market :)
Congrats on the launch! Really unique product, especially with the voice cloning feature.
You could also pair it with AI-powered word prediction, like how keyboards on phones predict your next word, but far more powerful and accurate with AI. That combo could make it 10x more accessible.
@ash_grover Thanks a lot! 🙌 That’s a fantastic idea - predictive typing is actually something we’ve been exploring for the roadmap. Combining it with voice cloning could really take accessibility to the next level. Appreciate the encouragement!! :)
Wow, this is impressive! Turning a regular laptop into a full-featured text dictation tool without extra hardware is a game-changer. Congrats to the team!
Wow, this is an amazing technology. I was confused by the description at first but after watching the video, I see (haha no pun intended). This is very cool that you've developed this. Giving an upvote and would love to support it more!

🚀 Empowering Independent Communication. Fast, accurate, and reliable — Re:Connect opens up a new world for those with mobility challenges. A simple webcam is all it takes to communicate with ease. Excited to see this technology evolve even further!
Really inspiring to see technology empowering communication this way. Removing the need for expensive hardware could be life-changing for many. Do you already have early feedback from people with mobility or speech impairments?

@adam_cellary Even just reading the description, your project is very impressive! It seems like many people would need something like this.
Do you have plans to support other languages as well?
