Thanks for hunting @collectedview!
Radix Primitives is a low-level UI component library with a focus on accessibility, customization and developer experience.
As developers, we are forced to build custom components for most common UI patterns; an incredibly difficult task. As a result, most components on the web are inaccessible, non-performant, and lacking important features.
Our goal is to create a well-funded, open-source component library that the community can use to build accessible design systems.
Radix Primitives can be used either as the base layer of your design system, or can be adopted incrementally.
Looking forward to seeing all the cool things you build with them :)
I think this looks good and I'm an advocate for that space, but what I'd like to better understand is what is Radix UI's role in the Modulz ecosystem. I couldn't find any mention about it becoming part of the Modulz app or how that would happen. Things seem to be a bit all over the place right now with Radix possibly competing with your core product, which could lead to confusion.
@ebsalberto Thanks Eduardo!
Radix is definitely not competing with our core product, not sure where that idea came from.
Modulz is a UI design tool. An infinite canvas, where you insert real components (Radix components) and style them visually. Then generate the code.
In Modulz, designers design with Radix Primitives, visually.
@ebsalberto@colmtuite Thanks for the feedback. We'll add more links and notes to both websites over time to emphasise the link.
If designers can style Radix Primitives with code, that's great though! It doesn't necessarily mean they're competing. It's a tough ask for designers to learn enough React and CSS to style the primitives in code, which is where Modulz comes in.
As someone who has spent countless hours to gain ADA compliance certification for one of his projects, I absolutely support this. Also, how can we contribute?
