Thanks for hunting @bentossell :) Super excited to release PostReach into the wild today! The idea came up when I wanted a simple way to see behind share counts and find out "who" was actually sharing my content. There are some great tools like TweetReach and SocialRank to monitor performance of social accounts or hashtags on social but I couldn't find a great way to measure the performance of individual blog posts. In short, by entering the URL of a blog post, PostReach gives you insight into how far your content is spreading across Twitter, Facebook, Pinterest and LinkedIn and the identifies the top influencers who amplify it. Here's an example report: https://app.postreach.co/share/r... I'll be around here all day to answer any questions and can't wait to hear any feedback from the Product Hunt community. πŸš€

@ashread_ @bentossell Thanks for this, Ashley, really needed it! Same here, analysing social accounts is great but I'm more interested in monitoring the individual post performance. This is super fast and it looks clean, also gives a really holistic view. Congrats on the launch

@meseali Thanks Ali, really awesome to hear that. Thanks so much for being a part of our beta too :)
Kishore
@ashread_ that example report doesn't load

@909kishore Ah good, spot. My bad. This one should be working https://app.postreach.co/share/r... :)

@ashread_ Tried it. Love it. Adding it to my analytics stack. πŸ™ŒπŸΏ

This looks pretty awesome @ashread_ Love the design of the report, clean and simple! Does it work with posts that have been shared using Buffer, Quuu, Bitly links etc?
Ash Read
@sarahhewy Hey Sarah! Thanks so much, that's amazing to hear. PostReach should pick up any shares through apps like Buffer, Quuu, etc. If you create the report for the original URL (e.g. blog.website.com/post) we'll pick up any shortened URL shares too. Not sure I've explained that too well but hope it makes sense. Feel free to reach out anytime :)
Sarah Hewy
@ashread_ That's great, and makes perfect sense! :) I can definitely see me using this alongside my other social media/content marketing tools. Thanks for building it :)
Ash Read
@sarahhewy Awesome, thanks Sarah :) So cool to hear you could see it working for you, love to hear how you continue to use the tool. :)

This tool is fantastic. Well done. So good, in fact, that I felt the need to write about it. https://medium.com/product-hunt-...
Ash Read
@thisischrisbell Wow, Chris! Totally blown away by this piece :)
Ben Tossell
My buddy @ashread_ has been working on this side project and is pumped to release it today :) You can easily analyse your blog shares with simple reports! Historical data when first entering the URL is limited to 7 days prior at the moment (as with a lot of social media analytics tools)

@bentossell Thanks for hunting, Ben 🍻
Nate Benson
As a journalist I found this pretty useful to see how my stories from the week went. We get reports from our web team, but this is a great tool for quick data..
Ash Read
@natebenson Hey Nate, thanks for checking out PostReach. So great to hear you've found the app useful :) Appreciate the comment :)
Chris Frascella
I'd be interested in learning how the conversion rate looks for folks who sign in for their free report. If you're comfortable sharing that information, what's the best way to bug you for it? (at the risk of tipping my hand, I think it's a really great idea and am optimistic about your results)
Ash Read
@cfrascl Hey Chris, that's a great question - thanks for asking. It's a little early to have anything just yet but you can reach me on ash at postreach.co anytime and I'd be happy to share. We already have a (slightly rough) public stats page available here: https://app.postreach.co/stats Love to hear how you get on with the app :) feel free to drop me an email anytime.

I'm a beta user of this tool and love it! I find it's one of the best tools to know PRECISELY who your raving fans are and how much of an impact they have. I wrote about PostReach here - https://sumome.com/stories/influ...
Ash Read
@jdquey Thanks for being a part of our beta, Jason. Amazing to read this comment :)
Thomas Peham
Awesome job @ashread_! I'm using PostReach for quite a while now and I guess you can consider me a real fan! Great job! Since we've also been playing around with similar tools I'd be interested in your positioning strategy and how you want to differentiate PostReach from other tools (like Buzzsumo)?
Ash Read
@tompeham Hey Thomas! Thanks for your comment and of course for joining our beta and being so open with feedback. Great question! I think Buzzsumo is a really great tool, and offers so many fantastic features for users. I think Buzzsumo is brilliant for research and really deep dives into content. Where I really want PostReach to stand out its simplicity, I'd love for it to be able to deliver actionable insights at a glance (we have a way to go yet). I also think we can be really great with keeping tabs on performance after publishing, whereas I feel other tools are more about research and the moments leading up to publishing you post. Awesome question, Thomas :)

Awesome!! Great job @ashread_ Keep it up. I just ran a test on our blogs on CanvasFlip. Super simple to use. Very accurate results, Deep insights.. I also got ideas on which channel to focus for our blogs. TL;DR Super helpful tool for marketing folks!!
Ash Read
@vm4canvasflip Hey Vipul, thanks a million for giving PostReach a try. Truly means a lot to read those thoughts, really appreciate it :) LOve to hear how PostReach continues to work for you and always open to thoughts and feedback. Thanks again, Vipul :)
Aaron Hanson
This looks incredibly useful! Would be great to be able to export or do something with the list of influencers. Thank you for creating this!
Ash Read
@crixlet Hey Aaron! Thanks for your comment :) we have the option to download influencer lists into .csv files from each report - you should see an 'export' option next to the Sharers at the bottom of the report. Hope that helps, give me a shout if I can help at all. (P.S. We actually used Startuplister during our beta)
Rick Kats
should allow from main page to input url without the http:// or www.
Ash Read
@rickats Hey Rick, that's a great idea. We're always looking for ways to make it easier to create reports :) Thank you so much for sharing.
Amit Sharma
One of best content social tracking platform , i have seen yet . Great work guys .
Ash Read
@amitsquare Wow, thanks Amit :)
Amit Sharma
@ashread_ , Have you guys planned to give same reports data point through API ?As i would like to use this into our products .
Ash Read
@amitsquare Hey Amit, yeah we have an API planned - would love to hear how you'd like to use the data :)
Amit Sharma
@ashread_ Hey can you send me some doc of your API along with pricing details .I did personal message you to ask for the same .
Gillian Morris
I love the idea but accuracy seems to be off - I created two reports for Buzzfeed articles that mention @hitlist_app and it said that one had been shared exactly once, which I can assure you is not the case (it's been shared >1k times). Am I entering the tracking/URL wrong?
Ash Read
@gillianim @hitlist_app Hey Gillian, thanks so much for giving PostReach a try. Apologies for the issue here. Occasionally with sites like Buzzfeed and Mashable posts have UTMs or # or ? at the end of the URL and this means we'll search for the specific URL entered (working on a way around this). I've run a report quickly using the URL https://www.buzzfeed.com/nicolen... and this is the report it returned: https://app.postreach.co/share/r.... We may be missing a few Twitter shares but will now pick up any new shares. Apologies for the trouble here, Gillian. Hope we can get PostReach working to its full potential for you :) feel free to reach out if I can help anytime :)
Gillian Morris
@ashread_ awesome, understood!
Michael Sarlitt
@ashread_ slick. Any plans to release historical data > 7 days? Have posts from years ago that I'm curious about.
Ash Read
@msarlitt Hey Michael, thanks! We'd love to. In order to roll out historical data beyond 7 days for Twitter we'd need to have access to the paid API from Twitter / Gnip. This is something we'd love to do in the future :)
Justin Winter
Awesome! Always wanted something like this. Can start to do some fun stuff with this data. Finding top shared content around a couple blog posts, pulling off the influencers, then...creative growth hack-y things :-)
Ash Read
@jcwinter Thanks Justin, excited to see how you use PostReach :) Drop me a message if we can ever help - feedback and questions are always welcome.
Saijo George
interesting tool, 7 day history is a bit limiting for existing content but great for new projects so we can get all the data in one place.
Ash Read
@saijo_george thanks so much Saijo :)
Kyle Frost
Seems interesting, but the tracking for me is off by up to 10x - several thousand share difference in some places
Ash Read
@kylefrost Hey Kyle, huge apologies for any issues. It could be something to do with the posts being older than 7 days (possibly), we can only pick up shares of old posts on Twitter for ~ 7 days, once a report is created all new shares will be picked up though. Would love to look into this further for you - if it's not any trouble, could you drop me a mail - ash at postreach.co :)
SK Mezanul Haque
Great work! Love your tool Ashley. Was in search of a tool like this for so long.
Ash Read
@mezanul Thanks! That's awesome to hear :)
Bryan Harris
Hey @ashread_ great tool! Is there a way to look beyond 7 days in the past?
Ash Read
@harris_bryan hey Bryan! Thanks so much for checking out PostReach. At the moment, we're limited to 7 days via Twitter's API, would love to expand in the future though and explore some of the paid API options. LinkedIn, Facebook and Pinterest should have full historical share counts. Love to hear how PostReach works for you :)
