NBCUniversal’s streaming service for Comcast is available to Xfinity X1 and Flex customers at no additional cost. Subscribers will get access to TV shows and movies including 30 Rock, The Office, Parks and Recreation, Two and a Half Men, Law & Order & more.
I love several NBC programs, and I regularly go through and “binge” old seasons. I’m so excited that the main ways of viewing this content I love are behind a new paywall, because it provides me the opportunity to show my fandom through my wallet instead of only through my viewing actions.
This service had me at Parks and Recreation. I'd also be curious to see how far back they go with SNL. I'd love to watch some of the older seasons again if they're available.
I'd be really interested to see how this competes with Disney+ & Hulu, and Prime Video. Have been super impressed with Prime's extensive boxsets of binge-worthy TV, but if NBC might be moving shows like Parks & Recreation under Peacock, I may have to look again.
content creators and studios cost $$$ 500K+ per minute. Too rich cost, for content as a service, that now has to compete with more choices than ever. They will survive, but it will cost them, and they will have to M&A their way to finish line.
