Nomadful ID is a new way to share your health data and log into online services, get personalised experiences, authenticate at hospitals, and so much more. All while keeping your data safe and under your control.
Hello PH! After two months of hard work, I'm excited to share a feature I've been working on at Nomadful. I wanted to build something that leveraged the power of tech in health while conveying a human sense, with built-in privacy features. The result is a new product that will hopefully approach and help solve some of the biggest challenges the health industry faces nowadays, such as secure data sharing, long queues for medical care and non-inclusive, non-accessible products, to name a few.
🌍 A few things this digital pass can help you do:
Access hospitals, clinics and other medical centres faster with a scannable medical record. Goodbye, pen and paper forms.
Verify your age at select partner locations such as age-restricted concert venues, although it's not a replacement for a gov-issued ID.
Securely share your allergies with restaurant kiosks and ordering apps to offer you an accurate dining experience.
🏞️ Why should I care?
All-around accessibility:
Medical IDs built in phones are often superficial and non-inclusive. (For example, in most cases you can still only choose between two biological sexes while many countries nowadays recognise at least three).
Nomadful ID was built to be easily implemented into apps, websites and physical locations within minutes.
Personalisation:
Choose what you want to share when you want to share it. No one should be able to see your blood type, sex or allergies when asking you to verify your age.
IDs are boring... so Nomadful lets you give them a personal touch with beautiful gradients and artworks.
Privacy:
The data used to make scannable codes is generated and stored in your device, so only you can access it.
Additionally, partner companies using our scanner companion app will only be able to see the data you choose to share once per session for 20 seconds before it autodeletes.
Only authorised apps and websites can take advantage of Nomadful ID's autofill feature, which means you won't be able to use this data unless the destination app was previously screened and approved by Nomadful.
Thank you so much for checking out Nomadful ID! I hope you find some value on it, and I can't wait to hear your ideas and comments.
@manuelzarroca@rohanrecommends Great build! We went down the same path just a few months ago, to really build a personalized experience for managing health. Incorporated self-sovereignty of EMR secured with blockchain...however, discovered Apple's plans with AI Doctor and Health App Revamp due out next summer. Spooked our investors. How do you see the monetization?
@rohanrecommends@alex_chudnovsky Monetisation isn't the primary focus behind any Nomadful product, although it is understandable that the company must find a way to sustain itself! For this specific product, we're working on a paid model for organisations looking to use health data. We offer a scanner companion app to scan medical records, and we also offer SDKs to implement online. The paid service offers a secure, easy and fast way to share data, while allowing organisations to build trust in the sector.
@rohanrecommends Not really! We do have some environmental-friendly policies here at Nomadful, and we try to build tech that's as ecological as possible. It's well-known that digital tech consumes a lot of energy and contributes to climate change, that's why you'll find dark colour interfaces across our products and responsible production methods, such as limiting device charges for each new feature we introduce to the app. We try to avoid technologies that aren't climate-regulated or produce a serious impact, such as AI or Blockchain as well. It's just our way of doing our part for the planet :)
This is something familiar to me (from our comment discussion) :)
It would be great to create a community of nomads who will share tips and also places to meet together, so their experience will be offline and can enhance well-being. Maybe in the future :)
@busmark_w_nika Your feedback throughout our comment discussions continues to be highly valuable, Nika! I'm glad you've found this product familiar, just as I have found your suggestion positive for my project's improvement. This nomad community will definitely be on the radar, rest assured ;)
@shantanusewu Our onboarding process has various stages, but we want to make them simple so we can attract a larger number of potential customers. At the moment, organisations must book a product demo with Nomadful, so we can explore possible integrations and customisation options. We plan to make a self-serve sign up to our partner platform in the future.
A universal health ID that puts users in control of their data is a powerful idea — especially with privacy built in from the start. Excited to see where Nomadful ID goes. Congrats on the launch 🚀
@naderikladious Thank you so much. I'm just as excited as you are on the launch of this product and will hopefully share positive updates with you guys later on!
This is incredibly important work @manuelzarroca ! Mental health support shouldn't be a luxury, and making it free shows real commitment to impact over profit. The regional helpline integration is brilliant , local context matters so much in mental health. Quick question: how do you ensure the helpline data stays current across different regions? This could genuinely save lives. Huge respect for building this!
@debarghyaroy You're right! Mental health is OURS. As for the helplines, we rely mainly on user reports... which isn't ideal always but we do check that helplines are still operational from time to time. We're working on setting up a custom API so that in the near future, this can be handled automatically.

@manuelzarroca Congrats on the launch. Have you ever thought to support the infra using Blockchain? :)

How are you approaching partnerships with hospitals and public health platforms?

Love that Nomadful connects you straight to local helplines—sometimes that's all you need when things get tough, fr. This is actually so helpful!

@joey_zhu_seopage_ai Thank you so much for sharing! I like to think of the helplines sometimes as the app's flagship feature.
