Hi Product Hunt! π
π I had a teacher for IT classes who was really slow with the keyboard (sloth level), but it blew me away when we did pair programming for the first time. His fingers moved slow, but the code somehow magically unfolded with an incredible speed, because he had this one superpower. He knew every single keyboard shortcut in his IDE.
β‘οΈ Since then I tried to learn shortcuts for every app I use on a regular basis (VS Code, Sketch, Figma β¦). People watching me kept asking how they can learn to be that fast. It took me a while, but here is my answer: Mouseless.
π§ With Mouseless we put together tiny exercises for all your favorite apps so it becomes easy to learn all the shortcuts for your daily tasks. They'll make you more productive, bring more fun to your daily work and save you time.
π If you need to cheat: Mouseless will stay in your macOS menu bar to show all keyboard shortcuts for your active app (works with all apps you've ever installed).
π€ The app is available through Gumroad for $30, but we added a 50 % discount for the launch. Purchase today and it'll be $15 only.
π¬ Can't wait to see what the PH Community thinks of the product. Feedback is very welcome!

@yash_thakur2 No worries, you can purchase the app. If it's not for you, send a short message to support(at)mouseless.app. We'll refund the money then β no problem.
@hanspagel appreciate the flexibility. I think it will help to have some type of trial - by time or number of uses etc. So people can see if it is worth it for them.
@yash_thakur2@sahil_pabby1 hi sahil! sorry to hear that you have trouble contacting us. we need your email address to issue a refund. can you send a short message to support@mouseless.app?
@kodburn We created a lot of small exercises to learn keyboard shortcuts, but the feedback from the first user tests was, that everyone wanted to look up shortcuts while trying them in the app, so we added this. That being said, Pretzel is awesome (to look up shortcuts)!
Plus, Pretzel doesn't work with *all* the apps you have installed.
We made the package to get keyboard shortcuts from apps open source: https://github.com/ueberdosis/wi...
Looks great and would love to use it. Only one question: Is the license one or multi device? I think this would also be a great app to offer our interns when onboarding, a nice way to get familiar with shortcuts and upp workflow!
@royresoluut thanks roy, that's a great idea! licenses are per device currently. we wanted to add a discount for people buying more than 1 license at a time, but couldn't find a way to do this with gumroad. but if you're up to buy a few, shoot me an email, I'll send you a few extra licenses then (e.g. buy 2 get 3).
@hanspagel Awesome, I'll speak to my colleages about this and get back to you! Last question: What about switching devices with a license? e.g. I'm confident enough with my shortcuts and my coworker would like to take over my license. Is this possible or would he/she have to buy a new license?
@royresoluut@hanspagel Same question as Roy below but different context: If I first use it on my work device, can I later move it to my personal device?
@royresoluut@noukkasigne it's not really implemented, but if you try to use the license again (new computer, hand it out to a co-worker β¦), our email address appears (support@mouseless.app) and we'll happily send you another license code β no problem.
This looks amazing! Would it be possible on a technical level to send the user a notification anytime they could have used a keyboard shortcut but didnβt?
@kevin_mccutcheon1 For the short exercises we assume you have set the default keyboard shortcuts. When we look up shortcuts for your current active app, we read them out on the system level.
Does this help?
I guess it can be decent but still far away from a pure mouseless usage tho.
Rather use some tilling window manager (awesomewm, i3, xmonad and so on...). Seems neat tho.
@myusuf3 We don't have a trial yet. You can purchase the app and if it's not for you, send me an email to support(at)mouseless.app. I'll refund the money β no worries.
@hanspagel - Thanks for the discount! Installed to learn some VS Code shortcuts. Got stuck after only 2 Essential shortcuts, because the app asked me to press "Page Up" button, which doesn't exist on my keyboard. Google came to the rescue and taught me that [fn] + [up arrow] = [Page Up]. It was annoying and frustrating that the app didn't provide clear instructions for alt. key combinations. Will you please update the app to address this issue?
@flybayer awesome! we already added a setting in v 1.0.3 but there are a few issues. You can't open the app again then or quit the app. We have to add those things to the menu bar. Hope we can add this to an update tomorrow.
Just bought it, love the UI.
Finished a quick essential set on XD.
It seems like the app stack seem to cater for web designer/front-end developer. Would love to see sets for illustrators and graphic designers too, like Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and the Affinity family.
I'd be more than happy to pay more for this if your team is planning to release packs catered for different occupations.
Thanks for the product, and good luck!
