Hi PH Community,
Excited to share MerryMint with all of you! We built MerryMint to help remote teams find online workshops and experiences to do together for team building.
Some examples include:
• Food & Drink: Tea tasting with a tea sommelier, learn to make fresh ricotta
• Health & Fitness: Yoga class, HIIT session
• Music & Art: Watercolor workshop, embroidery class
• Lunch & Learn: Learn how emoji get approved from the creator of the dumpling emoji
Pre Covid-19, MerryMint helped companies find food for corporate events. Once Covid-19 hit, we scrambled to find ways to help our customers maintain their company culture and boost morale. At the same time, many of the food vendors we partnered with were trying to stay in business without corporate orders.
We started out with catering for virtual happy hours (treats shipped to each employee's home) and got a great response. Our customers asked us for more ideas so we branched out from there to find online activities for entire teams. As soon as we started looking, we found a lot of interesting local businesses (magicians, mixologists, chocolatiers, etc.) that we could help bring online to offer unique experiences for any remote team.
We want MerryMint to be the best way for remote teams to build strong bonds.
Look forward to hearing your feedback and questions!
Love the core concept, not a fan of the pricing model (per person)... although this is being targeted at remote teams, I'm not clear what makes this a remote team experience versus a family experience versus a long-lost-friends experience versus a couple-stuck-at-home experience.
@arlogilbert hi Arlo - thanks for sharing your thoughts. since our existing customers are companies, we're focused on remote teams right now. agree that many of these experiences could be enjoyed by other types of groups but we want to ensure every aspect of each workshop is geared towards corporate groups for now. it's also easier for corporate groups to meet the minimum # of participants that some instructors require for a private session. regarding pricing - curious to hear what sort of pricing model you prefer. for the most part, we're letting instructors/hosts set pricing but interested to hear your thoughts.
@yvonlin Possibly you misunderstood me. It's not the total dollars, it's the per-person fee. I'd be happy to pay $500 for my company to have an hour of watercolor instruction, but there is no additional work for the instructor whether its' 10 people or 100 so the per-use pricing model feels odd. For your company it does the opposite of what you need for growth, you need as many people as possible taking the classes and telling their friends about the experience. It's a mistake to take an offline experience (classes with limited physical space where per-attendee is logical) and then apply those same approaches to digital.... That's my 2 cents, if this fails I bet it's your pricing model.
Love this idea @yvonlin ! I can see a lot of artists benefiting from this! We're actually needing to find musicians (not really into the ukulele thing) for an upcoming virtual event.
@missrogue thank you, Tara! we hope to add more artists soon. email me at yvonne@merrymint.co and let me know what sort of musicians you're looking for and I'll try to send over some ideas
