Hey Product Hunt! 👋 I’m Mark Heynen, co-founder of Knap.
We’re thrilled to introduce Knapsack 🎒, your free personal AI assistant designed to streamline your email workflow. 🧠 ✉️
**What is Knapsack?**
Knapsack is a desktop app for Windows and Mac that:
• Figures out which emails from the last 48 hours require a response
• Autodrafts email replies to those emails based on your writing style.
• Keeps you in control -- modify and send as you wish.
• Records and summarizes your meetings (think Granola, but cross platform)
• Keeps your emails and transcripts private -- never saving them on our server or AI clouds.
• Is compatible with Gmail and Outlook 365.
• Allows “system prompts” and saving of shared calendar links.
**Why Knapsack?**
The idea for Knapsack was born out of my daily struggle with email and meeting overload. I get about 800 emails per day and am in back to back meetings, so often can’t respond to time sensitive requests. Often the best response was just sending my calendly link. I wanted a solution that not only saves time but also respects my tone and most of all my privacy. This is enabled by our unique approach to private AI, as covered in this whitepaper: https://docsend.com/view/23vg6uj....
**Who is it for?**
If you’re a professional with sensitive emails seeking to reclaim time from your inbox, Knapsack is for you. Whether you’re managing client communications, coordinating with teams, or just trying to keep up with daily emails, Knapsack can help. We are compatible with Windows and Mac for Outlook and Gmail.
**Special Mention**
We’re honored that Kevin Roose highlighted Knapsack on the Hard Fork podcast as a standout example of on-device AI.
**Pricing**
The Knapsack app is free forever. We welcome your feedback to help us improve.
