Agency Owner-Turned Builder With 8 New Tools in 60 Days.

"At 51 years old your only option is to try to get a job that pays the bills."

"You are too old to start over."

If I were listening to my friend's advice, I would probably be bankrupt by now.

Ever feel like you’re too late to start something bold? At 51, after decades running marketing strategies for various brands, I dove head-first into coding, robotics, and AI - purely because I decided to follow what I am frustrated with, and solve my own problems.

I wanted to introduce myself ( hey, I am Sal) with a message that it is never too late, at any age, to start something new, even after what you built with hard work crumbled. The mindset is to always keep adapting and learning.

I am not a coder, but thankfully, even at this age, I am learning how to code. I once tried it in my 20's and got a headache, just by seeing the HTML code. They say learning new things requires your brain, produce new cells and keeps it healthy

As the world was introduced to ChatGTP and AI, I think that people with no chance to make it before, now they can.

And I am a prime example of that - resigned in my 30s to start a consultancy, elevated in a marketing agency, lost it to Covid and the financial crisis and spent two years, before the intro of ChatGTP without being able to find a single client - so that my friends said to get a job at McDonalds, as I am too old to get hired. What a complete BS.

First, it is not an excuse anymore to say "I do not know how". There are no excuses any more, to say "I can't do it".

Yes, you can, all you have to do is learn how, go for it and break things. And you knwo what, all my friends say "no I can't do this".

At 51, I discovered "vibe coding" and now with the help of other tools and lots of experimentation, I saw that the opportunity lies not on the traditional marketing itself, but - for a short window of time, maybe in 5-10 years- in creating solutions that companies can use.

So I sat down, and build everything I didn't have, and all that could help me do a better job and ease my life. They are not perfect, but I will refine them as time goes by.

So again, I am Sal, a marketing veteran turned product developer and builder. Built 8 tools in 60 days and I loved the process, and I am sure you are too.

Congrats for you courage! You need it at any age to take the step. I am on the same road as you were. 😁

This really hit home. As someone early in my career trying to navigate pivots of my own, it’s incredibly inspiring to see someone keep building after everything they’ve already done.

Would love to learn more from your journey and connect sometime. Thanks for sharing this, Sal!
